WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University men's basketball team — coming off a 73-66 loss Monday against Augsburg Monday at the SMU Gym — kicks off the second half of the conference schedule Wednesday, playing host to Macalester in a 7:30 p.m. contest at the SMU Gym.

Saint Mary's Cardinal Notes: Chris Palmer (Faribault, Minn.), who was named the MIAC's Player of the Week Monday, picked up his fourth career double-double — and third in the last four games — with his 13-point, 12-reboud effort vs. the Scots Monday. … Palmer knocked down five 3-pointers en route to a career-best 26 points vs. Concordia last Saturday. … In the Cardinals last four games, Palmer is averaging 19.3 ppg and 11.3 rpg. He has led the team in rebounds in each of the last five games and has scored 10 or more points in five straight games and 12 times in the Cardinals' first 15 contests. …
Will Wright (Chicago, Ill.) scored a team-best 19 points vs. the Auggies Monday. It was the 56th time in 61 collegiate games that the SMU junior has scored in double figures. … With his 19 points vs. the Auggies, Wright jumped three places on the SMU career scoring list. With 1,163 career points, Wright is currently in 16th place — two points behind Jerry Hoffman for 15th and 13 points shy of George Drouches for 14th. …
