ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University men's basketball team — coming off an impressive 78-60 home victory over Macalester at the SMU Gym Wednesday — are back on the road Saturday, traveling to Bethel for a 3 p.m. Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest against the Royals.

Last Action: SMU got double figure scoring from three players — including a game-high 24 points from Chris Palmer (Faribault, Min.) and 21 points from Will Wright (Chicago, Ill.) — as the Cardinals kicked off the second half of their MIAC schedule with a 78-60 win over Macalester at the SMU Gym Wednesday. Bethel, meanwhile, got 14 points from Nate Robertson, but Saint John's rallied from a four-point halftime deficit to beat the Royals 80-67 in Arden Hills, Minn., Wednesday.

The Cardinals boasted a pair of 20-point scorers for the fourth time this season Wednesday, as Chris Palmer (Faribault, Minn.) scored a game-high 24 points and Will Wright (Chicago, Ill.) added 21. SMU missed out on its first 20-point trifecta by one point vs. the Scots, as Lukas Holland (La Crosse, Wis.) finished with 19 points. … SMU's trio of Palmer, Wright and Holland accounted for 64 of the team's 78 points vs. Macalester — including the first 24 points of the second half. … Palmer, who was named the MIAC's Player of the Week on Monday, picked up his fourth career double-double with his 13-point, 12-reboud effort vs. Augsburg Monday. … Palmer's 24 points vs. the Scots Wednesday were two shy of the freshman's career-best 26-point effort vs. Concordia on Jan. 16. … In the Cardinals' last five games, Palmer is averaging 19.4 ppg and 9.6 rpg.  … Wright, who made a season-high 10 field goal en route to his 21 points, has now scored in double figures in 57 of his 62 collegiate games. … With 1,184 career points, Wright has moved into 14th place in SMU career scoring, 18 points behind Willie Green for 13th. …  Holland extended his consecutive games started streak to 63 vs. Macalester. … The Cardinals enter today's game boasting three players averaging in double figures — Wright (17.7 ppg), Holland (15.4 ppg) and Palmer (14.4 ppg). … The Cardinals knocked down a season-high 10 3-pointers vs. Concordia last Saturday, equaling the 10 treys they hit vs. St. Thomas on Jan. 11. … As a team, the Cardinals are averaging 70.8 ppg.
