Last Action: The Cardinals got a game-high 15-point effort from Jess Miller (Carver, Minn.), but the Blazers used a 35-18 second-half scoring edge to hand SMU a 64-41 conference setback Saturday in St. Joseph, Minn. Carleton, meanwhile, has been off since Dec. 14, when the Knights dropped a 70-52 decision at Hamline.

A Year Ago: Carleton scored 67 points in both games vs. SMU a year ago, coming away with a pair of conference victories in the process.

January 5, 2009: The Cardinals gave Carleton all it could handle at the SMU Gym. After trailing by as many as 13 in the second half, SMU made it a three possession game with less than three minutes remaining, only to catch a few unlucky breaks in falling to the Knights 67-57 in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest.

February 4, 2009: From the outside, Carleton's Ally Weaver was a perfect 5-for-5, while from the inside, the Knights' Hannah Oken-Berg scored 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, as the Knights handed SMU a 67-46 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference setback in Northfield, Minn.

Saint Mary's Cardinal Notes:
Jess Miller (Carver, Minn.) led the Cardinals in scoring for the fourth time this season Saturday, scoring a game-high 15 points vs. Saint Benedict. … Jamie Stefely (Lisle, Ill.), meanwhile, pulled down a career-best 11 boards vs. the Blazers. … Renee Pecarina (Winona, Minn.) scored a career-high 17 points in leading the Cardinals in scoring vs. St. Thomas on Dec. 13. … Miller, who leads the team in scoring with a 13.5 ppg average, recorded a career-high 29 points against Gustavus on Dec. 9. Her 13 field goals vs. the Gusties were just two shy of the single-game record of 15, accomplished most recently by Tricia Rasmussen against UW-Oshkosh during the 1992-93 season. … Miller's 29-point effort was six points better than her previous career best 23-point showing against Bethel on Jan. 24, 2009, and also marked the third time in her collegiate career Miller has netted 20 or more points. …  Miller, who has started every game in her collegiate career — a span of 58 straight starts — has now scored in double figures in six straight games. … Today's game is the second of four in an eight-day stretch for the Cardinals, who are also home Wednesday vs. Hamline, before hitting the road for a conference showdown at St. Catherine on Saturday.
