MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's hockey team, coming off a 3-3 overtime tie in Friday's conference opener against Concordia, square off against the Cobbers again Saturday afternoon in a 2 p.m. contest at the Moorhead Sports Center.

Last Night:
The Cardinals scored three unanswered goals to take a 3-2 third-period lead, but the Cobbers got the equalizer with less than four minutes remaining in regulation as the two teams skated to a 3-3 tie in their Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener Friday at the Moorhead Sports Center.

December 11, 2009: The Cardinals broke a scoreless tie midway through the third period, then added another goal six minutes later, as SMU collected a key 2-0 MIAC win over the Cobbers at the SMU Ice Arena.

December 12, 2009: SMU needed double the offensive output of the previous night — getting a second-period goal from Brianna Drude and the game-winner off the stick of Ingrid Klockars (Wheaton, Ill.) midway through the third period — to beat Concordia 4-3 at the SMU Ice Arena.

The Cardinals' three goals vs. the Cobbers Friday came from three different players — Dana Kreuser (Maplewood, Minn.), Kara Cole (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and Cecilia Hardacker (Bloomington, Minn.). It was the second goal of the season for all three players. … Nicole Olson (New Brighton, Minn.) collected her team-leading fifth assist vs. the Cobbers Friday. … Olson also leads the team with five points, while Haley Coolsaet (Grosse Island, Mich.) and Brittany Therrien (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) share the team lead in goals with three each. … … Eleven of the Cardinals' 17 goals this season have come from freshmen. … Kaye Collier (Hibbing, Minn.), making her fourth start in the Cardinals' first five games, stopped 21 shots vs. the Cobbers Friday.
