WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University men's basketball team, coming off their best offensive performance of the season in a 98-77 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over Hamline at the SMU Gym on Wednesday, are back in action on Saturday, playing host to Concordia in a conference game scheduled for 3 p.m. at the SMU Gym.

Last Action: The Cardinals got 22 points from Will Wright (Chicago, Ill.) and double figure scoring from five different players in handing Hamline a 98-77 conference setback at the SMU Gym Wednesday. Concordia, meanwhile, scored 50 second-half points in handing Macalester a 76-60 MIAC loss in St. Paul, Minn., Wednesday.

Last Meeting  January 16, 2010: Coming off back-to-back double-doubles against St. Thomas and St. Olaf earlier in the week, Chris Palmer (Faribault, Minn.) was at it again against Concordia, knocking down a career-high 26 points, while also added nine boards, in leading the Cardinals to a 71-55 conference win over the Cobbers in Moorhead, Minn.

The Cardinals erupted for a season-high 98 points in their conference win over Hamline on Wednesday. It was the most points scored by an SMU team since netting 99 in a 105-99 loss to Macalester during the 1994-95 season. It was also the most points in a win since the Cardinals netted 106 in beating Macalester 106-92 during the 1978-79 season. … Lukas Holland (La Crosse, Wis.) scored a team-high 22 points vs. the Pipers Wednesday. He was one of five SMU players to score in double figures. … After going five years without a game with five double-figure scorers, the Cardinals have now done it twice in a two-week span. … Gary Seifert (Prescott, Wis.) netted a career-high 17 points vs. Hamline Wednesday — including 11 in the first half. … Chris Palmer (Faribault, Minn.) collected his team-leading sixth double-double of the season — and second in as many games — with 19 points and 12 rebounds against the Pipers. … Palmer, who has now scored in double figures in 12 straight games and 18 times this season, also boasts five games with 10 or more points and nine rebounds. … Will Wright (Chicago, Ill.) and Thomas Sims (Eagan, Minn.) also scored in double figures vs. Hamline, netting 11 and 10 points, respectively. … With his 11 points vs. Hamline, Wright moved into ninth place in the SMU all-time career scoring list with 1,288 points. After snapping an eight-game losing streak with a 76-63 win over Augsburg on Feb. 3, the Cobbers have now won three straight. … Concordia's 76-50 win over Macalester Wednesday marked the second time this season CC has netted 76 points vs. the Scots. The Cobbers had beaten Macalester 76-54 in their first meeting on Jan. 6. … Concordia scored a season-high 50 points in the second half of Wednesday's win vs. Macalester. … Aaron Lindahl had a perfect night vs. the Scots, scoring 14 points on 3-for-3 shooting from the floor — including 1-for-1 from behind the 3-point line — while also going 7-for-7 from the free throw line. … John Fraase notched his third straight double-double with a 14-point, 10-rebound effort vs. the Scots, while Karl Olson also added 14 points. … Darrin Olmscheid enters today's game vs. Saint Mary's as the team's scoring leader, averaging 13.6 ppg, while Fraase (12.3 ppg) and Olson (10.3 ppg) are also averaging in double figures. … All 108 of Fraase's field goals have been from inside the 3-point line.
