WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University volleyball team, fresh of an impressive 3-1 conference win over Carleton in Northfield, Minn., on Saturday, returns home for a key 7 p.m. Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match against Hamline.

With their 3-1 win over Carleton, the Cardinals have now won four of their last five matches, with the lone loss coming against nationally ranked St. Thomas on Sept. 22. … Amy Kujak collected a match-high 18 kills and hit .306 in leading SMU to its 3-1 win over Carleton last Saturday. … Saturday's 18 kills were a season high for Kujak and the second-most kills in match for the Cardinals this season. Sarah Gardner's (Rochester, Minn.) 22 kills vs. Loras on Sept. 4 are the most by a Cardinal this season. … Gardner chipped in 16 kills vs. the Knights Saturday and has now recorded 10 or more kills in nine of the team's 12 matches. … Gardner now leads the team with 164 kills (4.00 kps) and boasts 1,154 career kills. … Jessica Mate (St. Charles, Ill.) is second on the team in kills with 127, and, like Gardner, continues to climb up the career kills ladder, entering tonight's match with 1,079. … Kujak, who is hitting a team-best .348, has also collected 100 or more kills this season, boasting 111. … The Cardinals have three players with 10 or more aces, led by Tara Rasmussen (Kasson, Minn.) with 17. … Rasmussen also leads the team in digs with 177, while Brittany Cherwinka (Faribault, Minn.) has a team-leading 259 assists and enters Wednesday's match vs. Hamline with 2,586 career assists, ranking her No. 4 all time. … Six of the Cardinals' nine wins have been 3-0 decisions.
