WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University men's soccer team, coming off its third straight road game Tuesday in a 3-0 conference loss at Gustavus, returns home on Saturday, playing host to Concordia in a 1 p.m. conference contest at Ochrymowycz Field.

After holding nationally ranked and unbeaten UW-Oshkosh to just one goal in a 1-0 loss last Saturday, the Cardinals were torched for three goals in a 3-0 MIAC loss at Gustavus on Tuesday in St. Peter, Minn. Concordia, meanwhile, played their second straight overtime game, battling Bethel to a 1-1 conference tie in Arden Hills, Minn., Wednesday.

After hosting Concordia for an MIAC game Saturday, the Cardinals will hit the road for three more games, before returning home for three of their final four games, beginning with a 7 p.m. contest against Hamline on Oct. 16. … who finally return home Saturday for an MIAC game against Concordia. … Chris Williams (Chicago, Ill.) — coming off a nine-save effort vs. UW-Oshkosh last Saturday — stopped five Gustie shots Tuesday and enters Saturday's game vs. Concordia with a 1.80 goals-against-average and a .775 save percentage. … Juamaine Venter (Rochester, Minn.) scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season to account for SMU's goal vs. Viterbo on Sept. 21. … Venter, who recorded the first two-goal game of his career vs. Crown on Sept. 7, is also the team-leader in points with 12. … After scoring just two goals in his first two seasons with the Cardinals combined, Venter has already netted five goals in nine games this season.
