The Cardinals picked up their second straight win Saturday, traveling to Northfield, Minn., to knock off Carleton 61-45 in a conference contest. St. Catherine, meanwhile, fell behind by eight at halftime and never recovered Saturday, falling to St. Olaf 66-59 in St. Paul, Minn.

January 9, 2010: St. Catherine raced out to a 46-31 halftime advantage and never let the Cardinals get their offense on track in beating SMU 86-59 in a conference game at SCU's Butler Center.

February 6, 2010: SMU managed just four field goals and 15 points in the game's final 13 minutes, as the St. Catherine used a 14-8 run to tie the game at 50-50, then outscored the Cardinals 17-7 over the game's seven minutes in handing the Cardinals a 67-57 MIAC setback at the SMU Gym.

Saturday's win over Carleton marked the second time in four days that the Cardinals traveled to Northfield, Minn., and came away with a win. SMU defeated St. Olaf 67-64 last Wednesday. … The Cardinals held Carleton to just 45 points Saturday, the second-fewest points allowed by SMU this season. The Cardinals held Augsburg to a season-low 44 points in a 57-44 win on Dec. 1, 2010. … Jess Miller (Carver, Minn.) — who extended her consecutive games started streak to 85 Saturday — scored a game-high 23 points against the Knights. The 23 points marked the fifth time in Miller's career that she has eclipsed the 20-point barrier and was just six points shy of her career-best 29-point effort against Gustavus on Dec. 7, 2009. … Brittany Begrowicz (Des Plaines, Ill.) chipped in a career-best 15 points against Carleton Saturday, while Jamie Stefely (Lisle, Ill.) pulled down a team- and game-high 10 rebounds. It was the second time this season Stefely — who scored a career-best 16 points in SMU's 67-64 win over St. Olaf last Wednesday — has hauled in 10 rebounds in a game. … Miller, Cherie Kulig (Independence, Wis.) or Jessica Thone (Woodbury, Minn.) has now led the team in scoring in nine of the team's 10 games. … Miller enters Wednesday's game against St. Catherine averaging a team-best 12.5 ppg, while Stefely has a team-high 63 rebounds (6.3 rpg). … Thone and Stefely each recorded their first double-double of the season on Dec. 4 against Macalester. Thone scored 13 points and added 10 rebounds, while Stefely netted 10 points and hauled in 10 boards. Eighteen of those 20 rebounds by Thone and Stefely came on the defensive end. … Thone has netted a team-best 11 3-pointers. Saturday's 66-59 loss to St. Olaf pushed the Wildcats' losing streak to four straight. … SCU has been held to less than 60 points every game during their four-game slide. … Three of the Wildcats' four losses during their current losing streak have come at home. … All three of St. Catherine's wins have come on the road — the Wildcats are 0-4 at home. … Laura Kalbfell scored a team-high 22 points against St. Olaf on Saturday. Seventeen of the senior's 22 points came in the first half. … Kalbfell, who has led the team in scoring in each of their 10 games this season, has now scored 20 or more points six times this season. … Sonja Ellingson also scored in double figures vs. the Oles Saturday, netting 11 points. … Kalbfell enters Wednesday's game against Saint Mary's averaging 19.3 ppg.
