Michael Burfeind averaged 32 points and 9.5 rebounds in SMU's two games last week, earning the Cardinal junior MIAC Player of the Week honors. … For the second time in as many games, Burfeind posted a career high for points against Concordia last Wednesday, as the SMU junior poured in 38 points against the Cobbers. … It was the first 30-point effort of Burfeind's career and was the most scored by a Cardinal since

Wednesday's game at Saint Mary's is the first of five straight road games for the V-Hawks, who do not play at home again until Jan. 7, when they host MCC newcomer AIB College of Business. … Viterbo's 65-56 loss to Waldorf Saturday was the V-Hawks' second straight setback and sixth in their last eight games. … Matt Turba went 8-for-19 from the floor en route to a team-high 20 points vs. Waldorf Saturday.
