WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University men's hockey closes out the 2011 portion of its schedule on Friday, as the Cardinals host Marian in a 7:30 p.m. nonconference game at the SMU Ice Arena.

Last Action:
The Cardinals got a goal from Andrew Ketterer (Peoria, Ill.) with 0.4 seconds remaining in regulation to lift SMU to a 2-1 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over St. Olaf last Saturday at the SMU Ice Arena. The Oles used a three-goal first period to beat the Cardinals 5-2 in the first game of their two-game series in Northfield, Minn., a night earlier. … Marian, meanwhile, picked up three of a possible four conference points in the Sabres' two-game MCHA series at Northland. The Sabres opened with an 8-4 win victory last Friday, then followed that up with a 5-5 tie the following evening.

December 10, 2010: Chase Marshall (Maple Grove, Minn.) scored the game's first goal in the opening period, but Marian responded with four unanswered goals in handing SMU a 4-1 nonconference setback in Fond du Lac, Wis.

Up Next:
Following Friday's game at Marian, the Cardinals are off until Jan. 6-7, 2012, when they host UW-Stevens Point and defending national champion St. Norbert, respectively. … Marian, meanwhile, is also headed for a long layoff, not returning to action until Jan. 14-15, when they square off against Milwaukee School of Engineering for a pair of MCHA games.
