December 3, 2011: St. Olaf's near-perfect effort from the free throw line down the stretch proved to be the Cardinals' downfall, as St. Olaf outscored SMU 19-7 in the game's final seven minutes en route to a 76-64 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory at the SMU Gym.

January 5, 2011: SMU raced out to a 12-point, 39-27 halftime advantage, then finished what they started by holding off a late Ole run to post a 67-64 conference victory in Northfield, Minn.
February, 9, 2011: The Cardinals struggled to find their shooting touch against the Oles in the teams' rematch, shooting just 26 percent from the field as they fell 56-47 in overtime to St. Olaf at the SMU Gym.

With their 55-50 win at Saint Benedict, the Cardinals put an end to a pair of streaks that started during the 1986-87 season. SMU put an end to a 26-game losing streak at Saint Benedict, while also completing its first season sweep of the Blazers since beating CSB 57-53 and 59-42 during the 1985-86 season. The Cardinals finished 20-2 and placed third in the NCAA Division III Regional that year. … Fueled by Wednesday's five-point win over CSB, the Cardinals enter Saturday's game at St. Olaf having won six of their last seven games. … The Cardinals and Oles are two of three teams tied for third place in the MIAC standings. With their 59-50 loss at Macalester, the Oles have now dropped two of their last three games. … After starting the season with seven straight wins, the Oles are 5-5 in their last 10 contests. … St. Olaf's 50 points marked the lowest offensive output in a loss this season. Ironically, the Oles' lowest offensive output, 43 points, came in a 43-36 win over Bethel on Jan. 7. … Nikki Fonger scored a team-high 11 points vs. Macalester Wednesday, while Mackenzie Wolter chipped in nine points. … Wolter and Sheridan Blanford each recorded 11 rebounds vs. the Scots — all 11 of Wolter's boards came on the defensive end, while nine of Blanford's were offensive rebounds. … Wolter enters Saturday's game against Saint Mary's leading a trio of Oles averaging in double figures with a 13.5 ppg scoring average.
