Last Action:
The Cardinals recorded a split in their two-game Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference series against St. Olaf last weekend. SMU outlasted the Oles 7-5 behind two-goal games from Bobby Thompson (Centerville, Minn.) and Jed McGlasson (Kenai, Alaska) at the SMU Ice Arena on Friday, but suffered their first conference loss of the season in the rematch, falling 5-1 in Northfield, Minn. … Lake Forest, meanwhile, came up just short against 13th-ranked Milwaukee School of Engineering last weekend in Milwaukee, Wis., battling the Raiders to a 1-1 tie on Friday, then dropping a 2-1 decisino on Saturday.

SMU vs. Lake Forest — Their Last Meeting:
January 9, 2009: Heading into its against Lake Forest, coach Bill Moore was worried about his team showing signs of rust. After all, the Cardinals hadn't played since dropping a 7-6 overtime decision to Hamline on Dec. 6. Through the opening 20 minutes, Moore's concerns were put to rest, as the Cardinals — fueled by a goal by Andy Roberts — held a 1-0 lead. During that first-period intermission, however, that rust made an appearance — on all the Cardinals' skates — as the Foresters erupted for five unanswered goals en route to a 5-2 victory at the SMU Ice Arena.

Up Next:
The Cardinals and Foresters square off again on Saturday as Lake  Forests entertains SMU in a 4:30 p.m. contest at Alumni Memorial Rink.
