ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University men's and women's swimming and diving teams get back into action on Saturday, taking part in the St. Thomas Meet of the Saints.

The Cardinals' Last Action:
The Cardinals have been off since Dec. 7-8, when SMU took part in the two-day St. Thomas Invitational. Mark Ross (Dubuque, Iowa) led the Cardinal men to a sixth-place team finish, while Anna Smaron (Maple Plain, Minn.) and Nikki Farmer (Medford, Wis.) fueled the SMU women's eighth-place showing.

At the two-day St. Thomas Invitational — their last competition before the semester break — Mark Ross (Dubuque, Iowa) led the Cardinal charge. Ross posted an eighth-place finish in the men's 400 IM during the opening day — touching the wall in 4:41.06 — and picked up a fifth- and two more eighth-place showings during the second day of the two-day event. … Ross clocked a time of 2:04.10 to finish fifth in the 200 backstroke, then added eighth-place times of 2:08.84 and 56.93 in the 200 IM and 100 backstroke, respectively. … P.J. Heller (St. Cloud, Minn.) also had a busy afternoon, posting a time of 24.06 in the 50 freestyle, a 53.58 in the 100 freestyle and a 1:11.12 in the 100 breaststroke. … Anna Smaron (Maple Plain, Minn.) and Nikki Farmer (Medford, Wis.) led the charge for the Cardinal women. Smaron stopped the clock in 5:34.08 in the 400 IM, while adding  a time of 1:16.5 in the 100 breaststroke and 2:48.17 in the 200 breaststroke. Farmer recorded a time of 2:07.64 in the 200 freestyle.
