WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University men's soccer team steps out of Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Wednesday, hosting Luther in a 7:30 p.m. nonconference game at Ochrymowycz Field.

Last Action:
The Cardinals held high-powered Carleton off the scoreboard in the first half last Saturday, but the defending MIAC regular-season champs found the back of the net twice in the game's final 45 minutes to hand SMU a 2-0 MIAC setback in Northfield, Minn. … Luther dropped a heartbreaker on Sunday, as St. Thomas' Nick Rapisarda scored his sixth goal of the year seven minutes into the second overtime to lift the Tommies to a 3-2 win over the Norse in St. Paul, Minn.

September 19, 2012: When SMU took to the field against Luther, it marked the first time in 19 years the two teams had squared off. After 90 minutes against the high-powered Norse, the Cardinals are probably hoping they don't see Luther for another 19 years. Luther scored three times in the game's first 27 minutes and never looked back in handing Saint Mary's a 4-0 nonconference setback in Decorah, Iowa.
