In their first meeting, the Cardinals outshot the host Oles 16-4 and outscored them 2-1 — but it was not enough, as St. Olaf held off SMU 5-3 at the Northfield Ice Arena. And it was more of the same in the teams' rematch, as the Cardinals held a decisive 19-9 edge in shots on goal in the game's final 20 minutes, only to come up empty in falling to the Oles
3-1 at the SMU Ice Arena.

The Cardinals are back on the road to kick off their two-game conference series against Augsburg next Friday, traveling to Minneapolis, Minn., for a 7:05 p.m. MIAC game against the Auggies. The two teams will then return to the SMU Ice Arena for Saturday's 2 p.m. rematch. … St. Olaf heads to the Moorhead Sports Center in Moorhead, Minn., next weekend, as the Oles travel to Concordia for a pair of conference games — Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.
