WINONA, Minn. —
Jenna Sullivan (Woodbury, Minn.) had a post-season to remember last week for the Saint Mary's University of Minnesota volleyball team, as the junior recorded a pair of "double-doubles" in helping the Cardinals reach the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Playoff semifinals.
And Saturday, the Cardinal junior was rewarded for her efforts, being named to the six-player MIAC Playoff All-Tournament Team.
Sullivan had an incredible 19-kill, 11-dig performance in the Cardinals' 3-1 win over Bethel in the conference playoff quarterfinal match last Tuesday, before adding her second kill-dig double-double with 11 kills and 16 digs in a 3-0 loss to top-seeded Augsburg two days later.
Conference playoff-champion St. Thomas and runner-up Augsburg each had two players named to the team—Jill Greenfield and Jenny Foley from St. Thomas and Ashley Peper and Colleen Ourada from Augsburg—while Saint Benedict's Sophie Stangl was also named to the team.
St. Thomas, which shared the regular-season title with Augsburg, beat the Auggies 3-0 in the conference playoff title match Saturday. UST took the first set 25-17, then claimed a 31-29 marathon win in the second set, before finishing off the Auggies—and earning the conference's automatic NCAA tournament berth—with a 25-21 win in the third.
