WINONA, Minn. — Courtney Euerle's (Litchfield, Minn.) illustrious playing career may have come to an end when the Saint Mary's University women's basketball team fell to UW-Oshkosh in the semifinals of the NCAA Regional Tournament on March 7.

Euerle's post-season honors, however, just keep on piling up.

The reigning Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year — not to mention First-Team All-MIAC and MIAC All-Defensive Team selection — collected yet another post-season accolade on Monday, as Euerle was named to the D3hoops.com All-West Region First Team.

Joining Euerle on the five-player All-West Region First-Team were Heather Johns and Sarah Anderegg of Whitman, Champman's Kimi Takaoka and Kayla Johnson of Whitworth.

Whitman swept the region's top honors, with Johns being named Player of the Year, while Michelle Ferenz was the Coach of the Year. Jessica Salottolo of Cal Lutheran was tabbed the region's Rookie of the Year.

After not scoring more than 17 points in her first three seasons as a Cardinal, Euerle eclipsed the 20-point mark six times this season — including four times in SMU's last six games — and scored in double figures 21 times this season and 49 times in her four years in an SMU uniform.

The senior forward — who closed out her playing career with 16 points and a career-high 17 rebounds in SMU's NCAA tournament loss to UW-Oshkosh — finished the season  leading the team in both scoring (13.5 ppg) and rebounding (7.7 rpg), while also collecting five double-doubles.

Euerle's efforts helped spearhead the Cardinals to a school record-tying 24 wins — not to mention its first regular-season conference title and first appearance in the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament in 28 years.

Euerle was one of six MIAC players to earn all-region honors. Hamline's Jordan Sammons, St. Thomas' Taylor Young and Bethel's Rachel Parupsky were second-team selections, while Concordia's Alley Fisher and St. Thomas' Maggie Weiers were third-team picks.
