NCAA Tournament: By The Numbers

WINONA, Minn. — Here's a look at the NCAA Tournament Oshkosh Regional — by the numbers.

1: Northwestern-St. Paul is making its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

2: Saint Mary's swept the top two Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference post-season awards, as Courtney Euerle was named MIAC Player of the Year, while coach Mandy Pearson picked up her second straight MIAC Coach of the Year honor.

3: SMU's Courtney Euerle (MIAC), Washington U's Melissa Gilkey (UAA) and Northwestern's Mollie Sir (UMAC) were all named Players of the Year in their respective conferences.

3: Along with her MIAC Player of the Year honor, SMU's Courtney Euerle was also named to the MIAC All-Defensive Team for the third straight year.

4: SMU's Darcey Rice has knocked down a team-leading 55 3-pointers, which is the fourth-most in program history — and just five shy of the school record 60, set by Ashley Luehmann in 2004-05.

5: Saint Mary's regular-season conference title is the third in program history — and puts them in an elite group of just five MIAC teams who have won three or more women's basketball conference championships.

8: Washington University, champions of their 20th straight UAA conference crown, have played in eight of the last 16 national title games, winning the crown in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2010.

9: Washington University's Melissa Gilkey became the 13th player in school history to surpass 1,000 career points during the Bears' win at the University of Rochester on Jan.31, and ranks ninth in school history with 1,137 career points.

11: UW-Oshkosh, ranked No. 12 in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25, is making its 11th appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship, but its first since 2000.

14: UW-Oshkosh set a school record with 14 3-pointers during its 95-34 win over Northland International.

15: Jessica Fife has recorded at least 15 rebounds in five games for Northwestern this year, and has owns double-doubles.

16: SMU's 16-game winning streak is the longest among the four teams in the Oshkosh Regional. Washington University owned a 13-game run, while UW-Oshkosh boasted a season-opening 12-game win streak and Northwestern-St. Paul posted a four-game win streak.

19: Nineteen different players have scored for Washington University this season. The Bears have had 10 or more players in the scoring column in 10 different games.

24: Saint Mary's enters tournament play with 24 wins — tying the school record, originally set in 1985-86 and matched a year later.

27: SMU's Bridget Pethke, Sara SchoenthalerDarcey Rice, Shelby Auseth and Courtney Euerle have started all 27 games for the Cardinals.

28: The Cardinals are making their third NCAA national tournament appearance — but their first since the 1985-86 season, when SMU also captured its last MIAC regular-season crown.

33: Washington University's Melissa Gilkey scored a season-high 33 points in the Bears' 70-60 win over NYU Jan. 19. It was the highest individual single-game performance by a player in the Oshkosh Regional — one more than SMU's Bridget Pethke, who scored a season- and career-high 32 points against St. Olaf on Jan. 29

78: Northwestern's Mollie Sir has started every one of the Eagles' 27 games this season — and 78 consecutive contests dating back to the 2011-2012 campaign.

91: Washington University's senior class — Lucy Montgomery, Jordan Rettig and Jessy Rosen — has led the Bears to an overall record of 91-20, including four 20-win seasons and four NCAA Tour¬nament appearances.

99: Ashley Neustifter has compiled a team-best 99 assists for UW-Oshkosh, the most by a Titan since 2006.

110/107:  Northwestern and Saint Mary's have each eclipsed the 100-point barrier this season — the Eagles netted 110 points in a 110-100 win over Buena Vista on Dec. 7, while the Cardinals scored a school-record 107 in routing Crown 107-29 on Nov. 23. UW-Oshkosh, meanwhile, netted a season-best 95 points against vs. Northland International on Nov. 18 and Washington University tallied 91 in a win over No. 20 Emory on Feb. 9

124: SMU's Bridget Pethke has dished out a single-season career-high 124 assists this season, which ranks No. 6 all-time.

252: As a team, Northwestern-St. Paul has poured in 252 3-pointers, led by Mollie Sir with 75 and Chanel Madson with 68.

496: UW-Oshkosh has made more free throws (496) than its opponents have attempted (447).

723: Washington University ranks third on the all-time in NCAA Division III with a .798 winning percentage (723-183) in 35 seasons. The Bears' 723 wins are the sixth-most in Division III history.
