COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. — Saint Mary's University's Aaron Haley and Katie Stolz (Forest Lake, Minn.) enjoyed banner cross country seasons — each earning all-conference and all-region honors.

And Friday evening, the Cardinal duo was back to its team-leading ways, as both posted top 10 finishes to pace SMU during the first day of the two-day Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships.

Stolz broke the women's school record in the 5,000, clocking a time of 18:43.93 — shattering Katie Boisjolie's 2006 record-setting time of 18:49.36 — while Haley finished in 15:4:11 for his ninth-place showing.

Maya Booker (St. Paul, Minn.) chipped in a seventh-place performance in the weight throw, uncorking a toss of 14.67 meters, while Laura Schommer (Hutchinson, Minn.) posted a time of 62.60 to place 11th in the 400, while sprinting to a time of 8.23 in the 60.

Jacob Hagen-Erickson (Austin, Minn.) reached the final in the long jump, finishing ninth with a leap of 6.34 meters, while Phil Emmerich (Mondovi, Wis.) placed 11th in the two-day heptathlon, collecting 3,645 points to finish 13th.

The two-day event concludes on Saturday, with field events beginning at noon, with running events set to start at 1 p.m.
