Meet ResultsLA CROSSE, Wis. — While the rest of the Saint Mary's University track and field teams were competing at the St. Norbert Invitational on Thursday,
Aaron Haley (Plainview, Minn.) and a handful of other Cardinals decided to hold off a day and compete at Friday's UW-La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge.
And it was worth the wait.
Haley shattered the school record in the 10,000 meters, stopping the clock in 32:18.83 to break the old mark of 32:34.04 set by Robby McGuire in 2011.
John Soucheray (Woodbury, Minn.) added a time of 16:39.67 in the 5,000, while
Jovan Newsom (Glendale Heights, Ill.) and
Andy Meyer (Tucson, Ariz.) posted times of 4:07.44 and 4:39.69, respectively, in the 1,500.
The Cardinals are now off until next Saturday, April 26, when they host the SMU Cardinal Open at the Saint Mary's Track & Field Complex in Winona, Minn.
