RIPON, Wis. — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota volleyball team entered this weekend's Ripon Red Hawk Invitational in dire need of a momentum-shifter.

The Cardinals headed into tournament play mired in a four-match losing streak.

They exited the tournament proud owners of a four-match winning streak.

Talk about a momentum-shifter.

Saint Mary's—3-1 winners over Milwaukee School of Engineering and 3-0 victors vs. UW-Superior on Friday—completed their perfect run with a 3-0 sweep of UW-River Falls and a 3-1 triumph over host Ripon on Saturday.

"It was a good weekend for us," said Saint Mary's coach Mike Lester. "We played very well all weekend, and it's good to gain a little momentum heading into a big conference week."

Kenzie Lind (Rushford, Minn.) recorded a team-high 11 kills against UW-River Falls, with Macki Fadness (Eau Claire, Wis.) chipping in eight. Brittney Hanson (Janesville, Iowa) delivered 17 assists, while Tayler MacVey (Dodge Center, Minn.) chipped in 14. Lex Krogstad (Chicago, Ill.) recorded a team-leading nine digs and Morgan Thomas (Palos Park, Ill.) posted three service aces.

Lind was back in her leading role against Ripon, banging home a team-high 17 kills, while Fadness and Alex Peterson (Harmony, Minn.) chipping in 13 and 10, respectively. MacVey and Hanson each dished out 26 assists, and Krogstad finished with a team-leading 19 kills—two more than Lind.

With their performances in the Cardinals' perfect run through the tournament, Lind and Krogstad were named to the Red Hawk Invitational all-tournament team.

The Cardinals (9-5 overall) are back in action on Wednesday, when they host Bethel in a 7 p.m. Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match at the Saint Mary's Gym.
