ST. JOSEPH, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota women's basketball team officially kicks off its 2015-16 season this weekend with a pair of games at Saint Benedict. The Cardinals will face Crown in a 3 p.m. contest on Saturday, and then will face the host Blazers in a 3 p.m. matchup a day later.

New This Season:
• To increase the flow of the game, women's games will no longer be played in halves, but will consist of four, 10-minute quarters with a 15-minute halftime intermission. Any overtime period will be five minutes in length with a one-minute intermission before each. Intermissions between the first and second and third and fourth periods will be 75 seconds.

• Friday and Saturday's games against Saint Benedict and Saint Mary's are the third and fourth of five straight road games for the Storm. … This weekend's contests are also the third and fourth of six consecutive games against teams from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference—Crown fell to St. Catherine xx-xx in its season-opener on Monday, and, after facing Saint Benedict and Saint Mary's, will travel to St. Olaf for an exhibition game next Tuesday, before hosting Macalester and Hamline on the Storm's home court on Nov. 28 and Nov. 30. … The Storm are coming off a 3-22 season a year ago, including an 0-7 showing against MIAC foes. … Jessica Klaustermeier scored a team-high 13 points in the Storm's season-opening loss to St. Catherine Monday, while Hannah Malone chipped in 10 points. … Klaustermeier and Katie Hinkel each collected a team-best five rebounds against the Wildcats Monday, while Andrea Besa, Charmaine Begay, and Malone all added a pair of assists. … Crown surrendered 20 or more points in all four quarters vs. St. Catherine—the Storm were outscored 25-10 in the first, 20-12 in the second, 22-16 in the third, and 22-20 in the fourth. … The Wildcats' 89 points Monday were the most allowed by the Storm since Bethany Lutheran scored 92 in a 92-53 win on Feb. 22, 2014.
