WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota women's basketball team returns to the Saint Mary's Gym on Sunday, as the Cardinals entertain UW-Eau Claire in a 3 p.m. nonconference game.

New This Season:
• To increase the flow of the game, women's games will no longer be played in halves, but will consist of four, 10-minute quarters with a 15-minute halftime intermission. Any overtime period will be five minutes in length with a one-minute intermission before each. Intermissions between the first and second and third and fourth periods will be 75 seconds.

• Last Tuesday's game against UW-La Crosse was the home opener for the Cardinals, who finished 10-1 on their home court a year ago. Saint Mary's is now 36-3 at the Saint Mary's Gym over the past four seasons. … Sunday's game against UW-Eau Claire is the second of four straight home games for the Cardinals, who do not play on the road again until Dec. 9 at Augsburg. … The Cardinals erupted for 88 points in their season-opening win over Crown on Nov. 21. Saint Mary's netted 80 or more points three times a year ago—including a season-best 90 points in a 90-58 MIAC Playoff win over Gustavus on Feb. 24. … With their 76-65 win over UW-La Crosse last Tuesday, the Cardinals improved to 3-0—marking the fourth straight season Saint Mary's has won at least three in a row to open the season. • Sunday's game against Saint Mary's is the second of back-to-back road games for the Blugolds, who are 1-1 on the road this season. … Sunday's contest will be the Blugolds' second trip to Winona, Minn., this season—UW-Eau Claire dropped an 85-44 decision at Winona State on Nov. 18. … Teenie Lichtfuss scored a game-high 24 points for the Blugolds in their win over St. Norbert last Tuesday, while Erin O'Toole and Madison Johnson also scored in double figures with 16 and 14 points, respectively. … O'Toole also collected a game-high 14 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. … O'Toole heads into Sunday's game against Saint Mary's averaging a team-high 16.0 ppg, while also leading the team with 29 rebounds (9.7 rpg) and nine blocks. … Lichtfuss (15.5 ppg) and Johnson (12.8 ppg) are also averaging in double figures. … Bree Meier (9) and Litchfuss (7) have accounted for 16 of the team's 26 3-pointers through four games. … Johnson, Jennie LaCroix, and Arien Becker all share the team lead with eight assists each. … As a team, the Blugolds are averaging 63.8 ppg.
