MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — After four straight home games, the Saint Mary's University of Minnesota women's basketball team hits the road on Wednesday, traveling to Si Melby Hall for a 7 p.m. Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game against Augsburg.

• January 24, 2015 * Minneapolis, Minn.: The Cardinals once again played the majority of the game from out front—in fact, after giving up a game-opening basket to the Auggies' Bridget Bednar, the Cardinals scored nine unanswered points and never relinquished the lead. But for the second straight meeting, no matter how hard the Cardinals tried, no lead was safe. • Saturday's game against Macalester was the Cardinals' fourth straight home contest. With the 67-52 victory, the Cardinals improved to 4-0 on their home court this season—and moved to 39-3 at the Saint Mary's Gym over the past four seasons. … With their victory over Macalester last Saturday, the Cardinals pushed their season-opening winning streak to six in a row. … The Cardinals have now won six or more games in a row to open the season in back-to-back years. Saint Mary's put together an eight-game, season-opening winning streak a year ago— the Cardinals' longest such streak since opening the 1985-86 season by rattling off 19 straight wins. … Bridget Pethke (New London, Wis.) became the fourth different player to lead the team in scoring in last Saturday's win over Macalester, netting a team-best 14 points. … Pethke was one of three players to score 10 or more points vs. the Scots—Micaela Meredith (Bloomington, Minn.) and Brigette Audette (Big Lake, Minn.) chipped in 13 and 11 points, respectively. … Meredith recorded a career-high 23 points in the Cardinals' win over Gustavus on Dec. 2. • After winning five of their first six games, last Saturday's 59-54 loss to Gustavus was the Auggies' second straight. … Six of Augsburg's first eight games have been decided by nine points or less. … Allison McKee and Maria Loughlin each scored 14 points to pace the Augsburg offense against Gustavus last Saturday. … Bridget Bednar also finished in double figures against GAC, finishing with 10 points. … McKee's 14-point effort vs. GAC last Saturday was a career high. … Loughlin heads into Wednesday's showdown with Saint Mary's averaging a team-best 10.8 ppg, followed by Hannah Steinhaus (9.1 ppg) and Jessica Lillquist (9.0 ppg). … Lillquist scored a career-high 32 points in the Auggies' 80-71 win over North Central (Ill.) on Nov. 27.
