WINONA, Minn. — It's Monday morning, and time to take one final look back at the highlights of the week that was — by the numbers.
3: Molly O'Toole (Plymouth, Minn.) recorded three collegiate firsts in the Cardinal women's basketball teams MIAC Playoff semifinal loss against Bethel, as the freshman forward scored a career-best 25 points and hauled in a career-high 11 rebounds en route to her first collegiate double-double.
3: Bob Kinne (St. Paul, Minn.) became the third Saint Mary's men's hockey player to earn MIAC Athlete of the Week honors last Monday, after recording three goals and three assists—both collegiate firsts—against Hamline on Feb. 20-21.
3: Megan Vandenberg (De Pere, Wis.) pushed her singles winning streak to three straight with a straight-set victory in the Cardinal women's tennis team's 8-1 win over Hamline last Friday.
4: With their 90-58 win over Gustavus in the MIAC Playoff quarterfinals last Tuesday, the Cardinal women's basketball team has now won at least one post-season game in each of the last four conference tournaments.
4: The Saint Mary's track and field teams collected four first-place finishes—not to mention another school record—at the St. Olaf Ole Qualifier last Friday. For the second week in a row,
Ross Kinderman (Onalaska, Wis.) broke the school's 60-meter hurdle record, winning the event with a time of 8.58.
Tyler Kircher (Cashton, Wis.) and
Maya Booker (St. Paul, Minn.) won the men's (15.42 meters) and women's (14.78 meters) weight throw events, respectively, and
Maria Missurelli (Franklin, Wis.) narrowly missed breaking her own school mark in the pole vault, winning with a leap of 3.21 meters.
4: Four of the Cardinal men's hockey team's last five games have been decided by one goal—including three overtime victories.
5: Stanzy Snyder (Johnston, Iowa) collected a team-high five hits in the Cardinal fastpitch softball team's opening two games of their spring trip on Sunday. The freshman finished the day 5-for-9 with a double and two triples, while also driving in three runs.
7: With last Friday's win over Hamline, the Saint Mary's men's tennis team pushed its winning streak to seven straight—the longest winning streak in coach
Jeff Halberg's 15 years at the helm.
7: Seven members of the Saint Mary's women's hockey team earned MIAC post-season honors, the conference office announced last Thursday.
Macki Fadness (Eau Claire, Wis.),
Breanna Peterson (Macomb, Mich.), and
Tori Herrmann (Elk River, Minn.) were named First-Team All-MIAC, while
Kassie Lien (Grantsburg, Wis.),
Katie LeTourneau (White Bear Lake, Minn.), and
Marah Shields (Milford, Mich.) were honorable-mention selections. Cardinal coach
Terry Mannor also collected some post-season hardware, being named MIAC Coach of the Year.
7x2: Brett Giesen (Cato, Wis.) and
Brenden Amiotte (Rapid City, S.D.) each picked up singles wins in the Cardinal men's tennis team's 9-0 win over Hamline last Friday, pushing their season-high winning streaks to seven in a row.
10-1: Fueled by last Tuesday's MIAC Playoff-opening 90-58 win over Gustavus, the Cardinal women's basketball team closed out the season 10-1 on their home court. Saint Mary's is now 35-3 at the Saint Mary's Gym over the past three seasons
11: The Saint Mary's baseball team delivered 11 extra-base hits in its season-opening sweep of MSOE last Sunday—including six doubles, three triples and home runs by Jon Schlemmer (De Pere, Wis.) and Drew Denning (St. Paul, Minn.).
15: Bob Kinne (St. Paul, Minn.) scored one of the Saint Mary's men's hockey team's four goals in last Sunday's double-OT win over Concordia, giving the sophomore at least one point in eight straight games. Kinne has amassed 15 points (7 G, 8 A) during his eight-game scoring streak.
15: The Saint Mary's men's hockey team's 4-3 double-overtime win over Concordia last Sunday was its 15th win of the season—the most since the Cardinals went 15-11-1 during the 1996-97 season.

Martin Gruse (Trenton, Mich.) scored his team-leading 19th goal of the season—not to mention his sixth game-winner—1:05 into the second overtime of the Cardinal men's hockey team's 4-3 2 OT win over Concordia last Sunday. Gruse's 19 goals are the most by a Cardinal since the 2002-03 season, when Al Schumacher scored 19.
26: Emma Schaefer (Falcon Heights, Minn.) poured in a game-, season-, and career-high 26 points in the Cardinal women's basketball team's 90-58 win over Gustavus last Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the MIAC Playoffs. Schaefer—whose previous career-best was a 15-point effort against Gustavus on Jan. 10—finished 10-for-12 from the field, including 4-for-5 from the 3-point line en route to the team's highest single-game offensive output of the season.
81:05: The Cardinal men's hockey team needed 60 minutes of regulation, and 21 minutes of overtime to beat Concordia 4-3 in the MIAC Playoff semifinal Sunday at the Saint Mary's Ice Arena.
90: With their season-high 90-point outburst in a 90-58 victory over Gustavus last Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the MIAC Playoffs, the Cardinal women's basketball team scored 80 or more points three times this season—adding 80-point efforts vs. Hamline (80-72) on Dec. 5 and St. Catherine (80-70) on Jan. 21.
.571: David Barry (Apple Valley, Minn.) hit .571 in the Cardinal baseball team's season-opening sweep of MSOE last Sunday. The senior went 4-for-7 with two doubles and a triple, while also scoring five runs, driving in two, and owning a 1.143 slugging percentage.
