ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota volleyball team hits the road on Wednesday, traveling to Hamline's Hutton Arena for a 7 p.m. Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match against the Pipers.

Saint Mary's vs. Hamline—Their Last Meeting:
• October 15, 2014 * St. Paul, Minn.: There was nothing easy for Saint Mary's in its MIAC match against Hamline at Hutton Arena. The Cardinals—winners of three straight and four of their last five—opened the match with a pair of nail-biting wins in the first two sets, edging the Pipers 25-22 and 25-23, respectively, to take a 2-0 advantage. The Pipers shifted the momentum in Set 3 with a convincing 25-17 win, but Saint Mary's was back to its winning ways in the fourth set, dropping Hamline 25-21 to earn the victory | Recap

• With their 4-0 showing at the Ripon Red Hawk Invitational, the Cardinals have now gone 10-2 in their three regular-season tournaments this season. … The Cardinals enter Wednesday's match against Hamline riding a season-high five-match winning streak. … The Cardinals have dropped just one set during their five-match winning streak—sweeping St. Catherine (twice), UW-River Falls, and Ripon, while beating St. Norbert 3-1. … Along with their current five-match win streak, Saint Mary's has also put together a pair of three-match runs this season. … Macki Fadness (Eau Claire, Wis.) and Lex Krogstad (Chicago, Ill.) were named to the Ripon Red Hawk Invitational All-Tournament Team. It was the third time in three tournaments that Fadness has been named to the all-tournament team. … Krogstad has now earned all-tournament honors at the Ripon Red Hawk Invitational in each of the last three seasons. … Fadness finished with a team-best 41 kills and his .315 in the Cardinals' four tournament matches last weekend. … Fadness was one of five Cardinals with 20 or more kills for Saint Mary's at the Ripon Red Hawk Invitational. … Fadness has now recorded 149 kills in 12 tournament matches and leads the team with 172 kills through 14 matches this season. … Jenna Sullivan (Woodbury, Minn.) collected her third double-double of the season against Ripon last Saturday, recording 12 kills and 11 digs. Sullivan posted 10 kills and 12 digs vs. Luther on Sept. 5 and 13 kills and 16 digs vs. UW-Platteville on Sept. 11 for her other two double-doubles. … Sullivan has recorded 10 or more digs in 12 of the Cardinals' 14 matches. … The 18 kills by Alex Peterson (Harmony, Minn.)  vs. UW-Platteville on Sept. 11 and by Fadness against UW-Stout on Sept. 12, were season highs. … Brittney Hanson (Janesville, Iowa) recorded 20 or more assists in three of the Cardinals' four tournament matches last weekend—including 25 against St. Norbert, 21 vs. St. Catherine and 23 against Ripon. … Hanson, who owns a season-high 28-assist effort vs. Loras on Sept. 11, has dished out 20 or more assists in nine of Saint Mary's 14 matches. … Krogstad equaled her career-high with 36 digs against St. Norbert last Friday and finished with a team-high 115 digs in the Cardinals' four matches at the Ripon Red Hawk Invitational. … Krogstad, who has collected 242 digs through 14 matches, is second all-time with 1,845 career digs. … Saint Mary's 3-2 win over Loras on Sept. 14 was its first five-set match of the season. … The Cardinals are 6-1 in three-set matches and 5-1 in matches extended to four sets. … Saint Mary's has won the opening set in 10 of its 12 victories this season—the exceptions, a 3-1 win over UW-La Crosse on Sept. 5 and a 3-1 victory over Wheaton (Ill.) on Sept. 12. … With their 3-1 win over UW-Eau Claire on Sept. 1, the Cardinals are now 5-0 in their last five season openers.
