ASTON, Pa. — For the fourth time in as many regular-season tournaments this season, the Saint Mary's University of Minnesota volleyball team completed a perfect run through the Neumann Invitational Saturday afternoon.
The Cardinals—already owners of 4-0 records at the Ground Round Sugar Loaf Classic, St. Catherine Invitational, and Ripon Red Hawk Tournament—completed their latest 4-0 tournament run with 3-0 and 3-1 victories over host Neumann and Rowan Saturday.
Brandi Blattner (Eyota, Minn.) collected a match-high 20 kills against Keystone, while
Morgan Thomas (Palos Park, Ill.) chipped in nine kills and a team-best 20 digs.
Brittney Hanson (Janesville, Iowa) recorded a team-best 31 assists, with
Maddie Hess (Lewiston, Minn.) adding 18.
Blattner was once again the Cardinal leader against Rowan, recording 14 kills, while
Sara Lind (Peterson, Minn.) chipped in 10. Hanson dished out 17 assists, while Thomas added seven aces and 22 digs.
The Cardinals (21-2 overall) return to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Wednesday, traveling to Augsburg's Si Melby Hall in Minneapolis, Minn., for a 7 p.m. match against the Auggies.
