STEVENS POINT, Wis. — The Saint Mary's University men's and women's track and field teams are back on the road on Saturday, heading to UW-Stevens Point to take part in the Big Dawg Invitational.

Jovan Newsum clocked a time of 8:58.75 to win the 3,000 at last Saturday's Meet of the Hearts, while
Austin O'Hare was close behind in 9:02.22 to finish second. …
Brandon Krogman, who had his school-record time in the 600 broken by teammate
Morris Dennis at the Luther Invitational, turned in a 1;24.39 in the event to finish fourth at Carleton last Saturday. … In other men's Meet of the Heart highlights:
Ryan Buchmeier posted a third-place leap of 11.82 meters in the triple jump, with
Luis Avila adding a sixth in the long jump (5.96m), and
David Kemper (4.12 m) and Gordy

James Davis also put together a top-10 finish, clocking a 6.86 in the 55. … On the women's side,
Becca Dup stopped the clock in 26.75 to place second in the 200 at the Meet of the Hearts, while adding a time of 7.75 to finish fourth in the 55.
Maria Missurelli cleared 3.17 meters to finish third in the pole vault, while
Alicia Berkenes (3:16.89) and
Allie Thiel (3:17.69) both knocked more than seven seconds off their season-best times to place fifth and sixth in the 1,000. In other Meet of the Hearts women's highlights:
Madaline Eichers uncorked throws of 12.42 meters and 8.77 meters to finish seventh in the weight and 10
th in the shot put, respectively.
Clare Siska also recorded a top-10 finish, breaking the tape in 1:04.39 in the 400. …
Morris Dennis—who qualified for the NCAA outdoor national championships a year ago—highlighted a banner weekend at the Luther Alumni Invitational on Feb. 6, breaking the school record in the 600 with a time of 1:24.04. …
Bryan Ortman continued his dominance in the jumping events, sweeping the Luther Invitational long and triple jump honors with leaps of 6.41m and 12.87m, respectively. … The Cardinals broke six school records at the 2015 MIAC Indoor Championships, and added four more at the conference's outdoor championships.
