LA CROSSE, Wis. — It's called a Last Chance meet for a reason.
With the NCAA Outdoor National Championships a week away, several Saint Mary's University of Minnesota track and field athletes had one final opportunity to state their case for a spot to compete on the national stage—and they certainly gave it their best shot.
Morris Dennis (Elk River, Minn.) led the way for the Cardinal men, clocking a time of 48.22 in the 400, while
Maria Missurelli (Franklin, Wis.) cleared 3.30 meters in the pole vault to pace the Saint Mary's women.
Dennis and Missurelli weren't the only Cardinal competing at Thursday's UW-L Last Chance Meet, as
Austin O'Hare (Rushford, Minn.) clocked a time of 9:40.68 in the 3,000 steeplechase and
Brandon Krogman (Owatonna, Minn.) chipped in a 1:58.58 in the 800.
Joe Gardner (Chippewa Falls, Wis.) clocked a times of 16.69 in the 110 hurdles and 64.59 in the 400 hurdles, with
Kody Michaels (Stoddard, Wis.) adding a 60.42 in the 400 hurdles and
Ross Kinderman (Onalaska, Wis.) tallying a throw of 43.15 meters in the javelin.
