WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota men's soccer team returns home to Ochrymowycz Field on Friday, as the Cardinals entertain Macalester in a 7 p.m. Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference showdown.

Saint Mary's is 8-2 on its home turf, while failing to win in five games away from Ochrymowycz Field. … Last Saturday's 2-0 loss to Hamline snapped the Cardinals' two-game winning streak. … Each of Saint Mary's last two games has been decided by a 2-0 decision—a 2-0 win over Gustavus and a 2-0 loss to Hamline. … The Cardinals' 2-0 win over Gustavus on Oct. 11 put an end to a 31-game winless streak against the Gusties. Saint Mary's, which had gone 0-26-5 in its last 31 meetings with GAC, had not beaten the Gusties since a 3-0 home win during the 1985 season. … Saint Mary's win over Gustavus on Oct. 11 was just the third victory over the Gusties in program history (3-38-11)—the Cardinals beat GAC 3-1 in 1984 and 3-0 in 1985. … Charles Reit (Arcadia, Wis.) had his four-game goal-scoring streak snapped against Gustavus on Oct. 11, but the sophomore did assist on Butcher's goal, giving him at least one point in five straight games.
