ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University track and field teams close out the indoor portion of their 2017 season on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, as the Cardinals take part in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships, hosted by St. Thomas.

MIAC Championships—A Year Ago
Men: St. Thomas continued one of the MIAC's most impressive streaks, as the Tommies claimed their 32nd-straight MIAC men's indoor track and field championship. St. Thomas remains the only team to ever claim the conference indoor title in the 32-year history of the event. St. Olaf was the runner-up and was the only other team to reach triple digits, as the Oles scored 105 points. Saint John's scored 90 points to finish third, and Hamline moved into fourth place, just two points behind the Johnnies with 88.0. The host school, Carleton, scored 81 to round out the top five. Bethel finished sixth with 62 points, Augsburg scored an even 50 in seventh, Gustavus had 48, Concordia had 45 and Saint Mary's (25) and Macalester (20) rounded out the final two spots in the standings | Complete Recap
Women: St. Thomas claimed its 17th-straight MIAC women's indoor track and field championship—and 29th in the 32 years of the event—scoring 182.4 points and winning by 81.2 points over runner-up Saint Benedict (101.2). Concordia was third with 92.9, Bethel finished fourth with 78.9, and St. Olaf (69.5) edged Carleton (63.9) for the final spot in the top five. Hamline (52.0) was seventh, Gustavus (48.5) finished eighth and St. Catherine (29.9) claimed ninth over Augsburg (26.0) by less than four points.
