ST PAUL, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University men's and women's track and field teams are back in action on Wednesday, as the Cardinals travel to Concordia-St. Paul to take part in the Tommie Twilight.

• April 29, 2017 * Winona, Minn.: For the second time this outdoor season, the Saint Mary's University of Minnesota track and field teams got to strut their stuff in front of their home crowd. And for the second time this outdoor season, the Cardinals gave their home fans plenty to cheer about. Ross Kinderman posted the Cardinal men's top finish with a second-place effort in the javelin and David Kemper set a new school record in the pole vault at the Saint Mary's Open, while Becca Dup's 1-2 finish in the triple jump and long jump led the way for the Saint Mary's women in the non-team-scored event | Recap
 
Cardinals At Tommie Twlight/Concordia-SP Twilight—A Year Ago:
• April 29, 2015: * St. Paul, Minn.: The Saint Mary's teams parted ways when they arrived in St. Paul, Minn., Wednesday—with the Cardinal men heading to Concordia-St. Paul to take part in the Golden Bear Invitational, while the Saint Mary's women headed to St. Thomas for the Tommie Twilight. And in both events, the Cardinals turned in some eye-popping results. Morris Dennis (Elk River, Minn.) led the way for the Cardinals at the Golden Bear Invitational, winning the 400 with a time of 49.34, while Maya Booker (St. Paul, Minn.) led the way for the Cardinal women, uncorking a first-place toss of 45.66 meters in the hammer throw | Recap

David Kemper broke his own school record in the pole vault, clearing 4.63 meters at the Saint Mary's Open last Saturday. … Becca Dup, the school record-holder in both the long jump (indoor: 5.53m and outdoor: 5.49m) and triple jump (11.70m), picked up a first-place finish in the triple jump (11.33m) and narrowly missed breaking her own school mark in the long jump with a second-place effort of 5.47m, while Ross Kinderman also picked up a second in the javelin (47.82m) at last Saturday's Saint Mary's Open. … Desmond Steward—the school record-holder in the triple jump (13.99m)—enjoyed a busy afternoon at the Saint Mary's Open, posting fourth-place showings in the long jump (6.38m) and triple jump (13.04m), and adding an eighth in the high jump (1.66m). … Dup's school-record triple jump effort of 11.70m—set at the UW-L Aston May Invitational on April 8 was not only a school record, but also ranks as the 16th-longest triple jump in NCAA Division III this season. … Other highlights for the Cardinal men at the Saint Mary's Open: Ty Romey finished 14th in the 400 (57.06), Tyler Amy was 16th in the discus (35.78m) and 17th in shot put (11.10m), and Brandon Krogman and Ben Borash placed 19th (4:12.46) and 20th (4:12.92) in the 1,500, respectively. On the women's side, Molly Sweet chipped in a third in 1,500 (4:58.24), while Emily Ortiz was fifth in 5,000 (21:02.99), Maria Missurelli placed sixth in the pole vault (3.12m), and Natalie King (hammer throw, 43.13m), Bailey Joens (high jump, 1.46m), and Mackenzie Ellefson (100, 13.58) all posted eighth-place performances. Madison Gueningsman and Carly Cronen also had solid afternoons, finishing 10th in 400 hurdles (1:11.15) and 12th in 800 (2:31.71), respectively. … The Cardinals enjoyed a banner indoor season, setting 20 Top 5 all-time performances—13 for the men and seven for the women. … Saint Mary's also posted seven indoor school records. On the women's side, records fell in the 60 (Dup, 8.03) and long jump (Dup, 5.53m), while on the men's side, new records were set in the 60 (Kyle Lichttenegger, 7.03), 600 (Krogman, 1:23.19), 800 (Krogman, 1:55.62), 3,000 (Newsum, 8:45.92) and 5,000 (Newsum, 15:04.16). … Dup won the long jump at the indoor season-ending conference championships, posting a jump of 5.43 meters. … Newsum, Krogman, and Steward also posted top-three finishes at the indoor conference championships—Steward finished second in the triple jump (13.78m), while Newsum placed third in the 5,000 (15:28.49) and Krogman was third in the 800 (1:55.86). … Missurelli has placed second in the pole vault at the MIAC Outdoor Championships in each of her first two seasons as a Cardinal.
