CHICAGO, Ill. — After back-to-back home games last weekend, the Saint Mary's University of Minnesota men's soccer team hits the road on Wednesday, traveling to Illinois Institute of Technology for a 6 p.m. nonconference game against the Scarlet Hawks.

• Wednesday's game against Illinois Institute of Technology is the first of back-to-back road games for the Cardinals, who have played six of their first seven games on their home turf. … Last Wednesday's 2-1 loss at St. Thomas snapped the Cardinals' season-opening four-game winning streak. … The Cardinals had started the season 4-0-0 for the first time since opening the 1986 season with four straight wins. It was also the Cardinals' first four-game winning streak since early in the 2000 season. … Garrett Grunke (Verona, Wis.) scored the Cardinals' lone goal against St. Olaf last Saturday, while Sean Butcher (Cave Creek, Ariz.) netted the Cardinals' only tally in last Wednesday's 2-1 loss to St. Thomas. … Butcher's goal against St. Thomas was his team-leading fourth of the season.
