MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Saint Mary's University of Minnesota men's soccer goalkeeper
Nate Levy (Byron, Minn.) was a busy man in goal for the Cardinals in their Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference showdown with Augsburg.
For the first time this season—and the fourth time in his collegiate career—Levy put together a 10-save performance against the Auggies.
Unfortunately, the 11
th shot that Levy faced—a first-half penalty kick—was the only one to elude the Cardinal goalkeeper, as Augsburg scored in the game's 11
th minute and never relinquish the lead in handing Saint Mary's a 1-0 setback at Edor Nelson Field.
Augsburg would net the game's only goal at 11:57 of the opening half, as Aidan Sim-Campos beat Levy on a penalty kick for his team-leading third goal of the season.
And despite Levy's Herculean effort between the pipes—the senior would stop the final nine shots he faced—Augsburg made the one-goal lead stand up in improving to 2-0-0 in conference play and 6-2-0 overall.
The Cardinals (0-3-0 MIAC, 4-5-0 overall) are back in action on Tuesday, returning home to Ochrymowycz Field for a 4 p.m. conference showdown against Bethel.
