MENOMONIE, Wis. — The Saint Mary's University men's and women's track and field teams return to UW-Stout for the second straight weekend on Saturday, as the Cardinals take part in the Warren Bowlus Invitational.

Molly Sweet (Prescott, Wis.) led the way for the Cardinal women at the UW-Stout Open, placing first in the 3,000 with a time of 11:33.06, while
Maria Missurelli (Franklin, Wis.) chipped in a second in the pole vault (3.04 meters), and
Becca Dup (Albert Lea, Minn.) and
Erika Thiel (Burr Ridge, Ill.) added thirds in the long jump (5.32 meters) and 3,000 (11:42.61). On the men's side,
Brandon Krogman (Owatonna, Minn.) recorded a fourth in the 800 (2:01.66), with

Brandon Krogman (Owatonna, Minn.) led the way for the Cardinals at the UW-Stout Open last Saturday, running the second-fastest 400 in Saint Mary's history, winning the event with a time of 50.56. …
Kody Michaels (Stoddard, Wis.) was the top collegian in the 60 meter hurdles at the UW-Stout Open, clocking a time of 8.78, while
Kyle Lichttenegger (De Pere, Wis.) finished second in the 200, posting a time of 22.87—another Top 5 all-time performance—and also managed to finish third in the long jump (6.67m) and fourth in the 60-meter dash (7.12). … Other notable men's performances at the UW-Stout Open included:
Desmond Steward, who finished fourth in the long jump (6.37);
Austin O'Hare (Rushford, Minn.), who finished third in the 800 (2:01.62); and Peyton Lavigne, Matthew Boone (Melrose, Minn.), Jon Meaden (Rosemount, Minn.), and
Andy Allemann (Cochrane, Wis.) who teamed to place fifth in the 4x400 meter relay (3:42.31). … On the women's side, Carley Cronen (Kandiyohi, Minn.) ran a great 800, clocking a time of 2:31:31 and earning a fourth-place finish, while
Natalie King (Houston, Minn.) managed to place fifth in the weight throw, ending with a distance of 14.78 meters. Alexis Floresca (Romeoville, Ill.) also performed well at her first meet in a Cardinal uniform, winning her heat of the 60 meter prelims with a Top 5 all-time mark of 8.25. … The Cardinal men recorded 21 Top 3 finishes—including a first-place triple by
Kyle Lichttenegger (De Pere, Wis.)—while the Saint Mary's women put together six Top 5 efforts at the season-opening Saint Mary's Early Birdinal at the Gostomski Fieldhouse. … Lichttenegger's 6.84-meter leap in the long jump and Krogman's 2:44.10 in the 1,000 at the Saint Mary's Early Birdinal on Jan. 13 were both school records. …
Becca Dup (Albert Lea, Minn.) and
David Kemper (Woodbury, Minn.) each competed in their first-ever NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships in 2017, with Dup placing 17th in the triple jump, while Kemper was 12th in the pole vault. … Dup is also the reigning MIAC Indoor and Outdoor long jump champion.
