Becca Dup (Albert Lea, Minn.) collected three first-place finishes to pace the Cardinals at last weekend's Luther Alumni Duel. The Cardinal junior broke the school record in the triple jump with a leap of 11.74 meters—which was not only the best jump in school history, but also the fourth-best showing in the NCAA this season. … Dup has now broken the triple jump record in back-to-back meets, having recorded a then-school best 11.03m at the UW-Stout Warren Bowlus Invitational on Jan. 27. … Along with her first in the triple jump, Dup also won the long jump (5.40m) and the 55 (7.57)—while also joining
Alicia Berkenes (Buffalo, Minn.), Carley Cronen (Kandiyohi, Minn.), and Marissa Carlyle (San Jose, Calif.) to finish second in the 4x400 meter relay (1:56.47). … The Cardinal women's 4x200 relay team of Carlyle, Alexis Floresca (Romeoville, Ill.),
Portia Mensah (Bloomington, Minn.), and
Mackenzie Ellefson (St. Louis Park, Minn.) also collected a first-place showing, stopping the clock in 1:56.47 at the Luther Alumni Duel. … … Other notable performances for the women at the Luther Alumni Duel included: Kayla Boettcher (Colfax, Wis.), who finished first in pole vault (2.75m);
Natalie King (Houston, Minn.), who won the weight throw (15.02m), and
Bailey Joens (Osage, Iowa), who took fourth in the shot put (8.97m). …
Kody Michaels (Stoddard, Wis.) led the way for the Cardinal men last Saturday, finishing first in the 55 hurdles (8.12m) and in the 4x400 meter relay (3:36.29), where he was joined by Andrew Allemann (Cochrane, Wis.), Matthew Boone (Mindoro, Wis.), and Jon Meaden (Rosemount, Min.). Boone also added a second in the 55 (6.88), and Allemann placed fourth in the 400 (54.47). … Other top performances for the men last Saturday included:
Connor Nicholas (Las Vegas, Nev.), who placed third in the weight throw (13.68m) and seventh in the shot put (9.92m).
Tyler Amy (Chatfield, Minn.) finished fourth in shot put (11.14m) and fifth in weight throw (12.32m), while Eric Ohde (Chetek, Wis.) took fourth in the weight throw (12.45m). … Four of Saint Mary's five first-place showings at UW-Stout's Warren Bowlus Invitational on Jan. 27 were school-record performances—
Maria Missurelli (Franklin, Wis.) in the pole vault (3.40m), Dup in the triple jump (11.03m),
Brandon Krogman (Owatonna, Minn.) in the 600 meter (1:23.06), and
Austin O'Hare (Rushford, Minn.) in the 3,000 (8:43.45). … The Cardinal men recorded 21 Top 3 finishes—including a first-place triple by
Kyle Lichttenegger (De Pere, Wis.)—while the Saint Mary's women put together six Top 5 efforts at the season-opening Saint Mary's Early Birdinal at the Gostomski Fieldhouse on Jan. 13. … Lichttenegger's 6.84-meter leap in the long jump and Krogman's 2:44.10 in the 1,000 at the Saint Mary's Early Birdinal on Jan. 13 were both school records. … Dup and
David Kemper (Woodbury, Minn.) each competed in their first-ever NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships in 2017, with Dup placing 17th in the triple jump, while Kemper was 12th in the pole vault. … Dup is also the reigning MIAC Indoor and Outdoor long jump champion.
