WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota men's golf team finally got to compete in a spring tournament Saturday—and the Cardinals made the most of their opportunity.
Tyler Dove and
Brett Jackson each shot 81s to lead the Cardinals to a second-place finish after the opening round of the 36-hole Saint Mary's Invitational Saturday at The Bridges Golf Course.
Augsburg shot a team-leading 304, with Saint Mary's second at 333, followed by St. Olaf (334), UW-Superior (335), and St. Olaf B (346).
Along with the 81s from Dove and Jackson, the Cardinals also got an 83 from
Bryce Galewski, an 88 from
Blair Sanders, and a 90 from
Kyle Brodt.
The 36-hole tournament concludes on Sunday with a second 18-hole round at The Bridges.
