RIVER FALLS, Wis. — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota women's tennis team had been on a roll of late — heading into Saturday's nonconference match against UW-River Falls having won nine straight.

And the Cardinals weren't about to let the Falcons slow them down.

The Falcons never had a chance against the red-hot Cardinals, as Saint Mary's dominated the six singles matches — dropping just six games —  en route to a program-record 10th consecutive win, a 9-0 sweep.

"Great team win," said Saint Mary's coach Jeff Halberg. "We were coming off an emotional win over Hamline last night, and everyone came out focused and took care of business. "

Saint Mary's set the tone for the afternoon in doubles, as Julia Boeve (St. James, Minn.)/Cassandra Barr (Eau Claire, Wis.) delivered an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles, while Marissa Kinzer (Aitkin, Minn.)/Kailee Johnson (Rochester, Minn.) and Sarrianna Hoffer (Wausau, Wis.)/Emily Strezisher (East Grand Forks, Minn.) chipped in 8-3 wins at No. 2 and No. 3.

And as good as the Cardinals were in doubles, they were even better in singles.

Lois recorded her second straight 6-0, 6-0 sweep, while Boeve — who set the program record for career singles wins in Friday's victory over Hamline — Barr, Johnson, and Kinzer dropped just one game, and Sonday added a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1.

The Cardinals (12-5 overall) close out a busy, three-match weekend on Sunday, heading to the CSB Courts in St. Joseph, Minn., for a 1 p.m. Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference showdown against Saint Benedict.
