• Friday's game against St. Olaf is the third home contest in the last four for the Cardinals, who have recorded five of its six wins — and two of its three ties — at the Saint Mary's Ice Arena. Saint Mary's 2-1 win over Bethel on Jan. 24 was the Cardinals' first road win of the season. … Last weekend's games against Saturday's No. 5 Hamline marked the sixth and seventh time this season the Cardinals have faced a team ranked in the USCHO.com Poll. Along with last weekend's 6-1 loss and 3-3 tie against Hamline, Saint Mary's dropped 3-2 and 4-2 games to No. 3 Adrian on Nov. 2-3, while falling to No. 5 UW-River Falls 4-1 on Nov. 9, and tying (2-2) and losing (5-1) to No. 4 Gustavus on Dec. 6-7 … With their 3-3 tie against Hamline last Saturday, five of the Cardinals' last six games have all been decided by one goal or less — while 15 of their 21 games this season have been decided by two goals or less. The 54 saves were 10 more than her previous career best — and the most by a Cardinal goalie since Ashley Corcoran stopped 56 Gustavus shots on Feb. 3, 2017. … Ziakas enters Friday's game against St. Olaf boasting a 3.98 goals-against-average and a .909 save percentage in 11 appearances. … Ziakas has made 30 or more saves seven times in her collegiate career. …  Jordan Keeley (St. Peter, Minn.) stopped 41 Augsburg shots on Jan. 31 — it was two saves shy of her career-high 43-save showing against Adrian on Nov. 3. … Keeley, who has made 30 or more saves in a game six times in her first two years as a Cardinal, boasts a 2.43 goals-against-average and a .927 save percentage in 11 appearances. … Saint Mary's finished with a season-high 53 shots on goal in its 4-2 win over Marian on Jan. 5. It was the most shots on goal since putting 53 on net against Hamline on Feb. 25, 2004. … With their 3-3 tie against Hamline last Saturday, the Cardinals have now played five overtime games this season — going 1-1-3. • The Oles enter this weekend's two-game series against Saint Mary's still searching for their first win of the season. St. Olaf has dropped eight straight and is winless (0-19-2) in its first 21 games this season. Add to that an 0-22-3 record a year ago, and the Oles have not won since closing out the 2017-18 season with a 7-3 win over Saint Mary's on Feb. 17, 2018 — a span of 47 games. … St. Olaf snapped its season-opening 11-game losing streak with a 1-1 tie against Trine on Jan. 3. STO and Trine also tied in their second game the following day, this time by a 2-2 decision. … St. Olaf enters Friday's game against Saint Mary's having surrendered four goals in each of their last three losses — 4-0 setbacks against Saint Benedict on Jan. 31 and Bethel on Feb. 7, and a 4-1 loss to Bethel the following afternoon. … Johanna Glaaser has scored a team-leading four goals, one more than Mary Kate Eiden, Annika Patterson, and Carolyn Carpenter. The trio have accounted for 13 of St. Olaf's 16 goals this season. … Eiden is the team's assist leader with four — one more than Glasser and Samantha Martin — while Glaaser and Eiden share the team lead in points with seven. … St. Olaf has scored three power-play goals — two by Patterson and the other by Carpenter. … St. Olaf has used five different goalies this season, led by Ivy Shronka and Grace Boswell-Healey, who have appeared in 14 and 13 games, respectively. … Boswell-Healey owns a team-best 2.97 goals-against-average and .934 save percentage, while Shronka boasts a 4.62 GAA and .898 save percentage. Kaitlyn Pellicci (9 GP, 5.28 GAA, .899 save %), Taylor Smith (9 GP, 4.96 GAA, .901 save %), and Sam Klemann (2 GP, 10.18 GAA, .750 save %) have also seen time between the pipes for the Oles. … St. Olaf has been held to one goal or less in 19 of its 21 games this season — the lone exceptions, a 2-2 tie vs. Trine and a 3-2 loss at St. Catherine. On the flip side, St. Olaf has allowed four or more goals 14 times — including a season-high eight goals in losses to St. Thomas (8-1) and Gustavus (8-0). … St. Olaf has been outscored 93-16 — 27-4 in the first period, 38-4 in the second, and 28-8 in the third. … St. Olaf has scored first three times (0-3-0), while going 9-16-2 when its opponent scores first.
