WINONA, Minn. — Saint Mary's University athletic director
Brian Sisson announced Thursday that Jake Leeps has been named the Cardinals' new head strength and conditioning coach.

"I am thrilled to welcome Jake to the Cardinal family," Sisson said. "I look forward to him having a profound positive impact on our entire department and, most importantly, in regards to the safety, wellness, and general support of our amazing student-athletes.Â

Leeps comes to Saint Mary's having spent last season as a member of the Luther College Sports Performance coaching staff.

"I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to lead the strength and conditioning department at Saint Mary's," said Leeps, who holds a CSCS certification from the National Strength and Condition Association. "I am eager to be in a position that allows me the privilege to contribute to the development of all Cardinal athletes.

"I look forward to developing positive relationships with the Saint Mary's and Winona communities."

Prior to his stint at Luther, Leeps served as a graduate assistant athletic performance coach at William Penn University and has also worked as a strength coach at North Mahaska and Decorah high schools, and as a University of Nebraska Husker power strength intern.
Â
Leeps earned his bachelor of arts degree in Exercise Phyisology from Luther in 2019 and his Master's in Sports Management from William Penn in 2021.
