WINONA, Minn. — What a weekend for Saint Mary's University's Kas Kingston (Black Diamond, Alberta).
 
Kingston had a hand in three of the Cardinals' four goals, scoring twice — including the overtime game-winner on Saturday — and assisting on another as Saint Mary's closed out the 2021 portion of its second with back-to-back 2-1 victories over St. Olaf over the weekend.
 
And Monday afternoon, the Cardinal freshman was recognized for her performance, being named MIAC Athlete of the Week.
 
Kingston kicked off the weekend scoring Saint Mary's first goal — her first in a Cardinal uniform — and assisting on the late, third-period game-winner in SMU's 2-1 road win over the Oles. The following afternoon, Kingston was at it again, scoring 13 seconds into overtime in giving the Cardinals their second straight 2-1 victory, and a sweep of their conference series with the Oles.
 
For the season, Kingston is third on the team in goals with two and points with three through nine games.
