  SAINT MARY'S CARDINALS SCOUTING REPORT
The Cardinals have not played since Feb. 6, when they dropped an 81-67 decision at Bethel. The Cardinals had kicked off their season on a winning note, beating Hamline 78-55 on Feb. 2. … Five of Saint Mary's last six victories — including their 78-55 win over Hamline this season — have come on their home court. … Brooklyn Paulson (Holmen, Wis.) equaled her single-game career high, scoring 27 points in the Cardinals' 81-67 loss to Bethel last Saturday. … Paulson has been the Cardinals' leading scorer in both games this season, having tossed in a team-best 17 points against Hamline on Feb. 2. … Ewelina Schlomann (New Berlin, Wis.) also scored in double figures against Bethel last Saturday, finishing with 12 points. … Saint Mary's put four players in double figures against Hamline on Feb. 2. Along with Paulson's team-high 17 points, Claire Patterson (Marine, Minn.) added 15, and Jada Biermeier (Eau Claire, Wis.) and Maggie Robertson (Orland Park, Ill.) added 11 and 10 points, respectively. Saint Mary's put four players in double figures in the same game twice a year ago. … Paulson enters Sunday's game against St. Thomas averaging 22.0 ppg, while Patterson is also averaging in double figures at 11.5 ppg. … Robertson is the team's rebounding leader with 11 (5.5 rpg), with Hallie Schmeling (Onalaska, Wis.) and Patterson sharing the team lead in assists with five, and Isabel Bettag boasting a team-high 11 steals. … As a team, the Cardinals are shooting 42.1 percent from the field (48-for-114) and 77.7 percent from the free throw line (35-for-45). … The Cardinals, who poured in 160 3-pointers last season, have knocked down 14 treys in two games this season — including nine against Hamline on Feb. 2. … Saint Mary's 78 points against Hamline on Feb. 2 were just two points shy of its season-high 80-point effort from a year ago. … The Cardinals have scored 70 or more points in each of their last five wins. … The Cardinals played a single-season, program-record four overtime games a year ago, including three that were decided by two points. … The Cardinals' 79-77 loss to St. Catherine on Dec. 4 was its first double-overtime game since beating Bethel 73-69 on Jan. 24, 2009.
  ST. THOMAS SCOUTING REPORT
The Tommies have not played since Feb. 6, when they picked up their second straight win to open the season, beating Concordia 63-58. … Both of St. Thomas' games this season have been decided by five points or less — along with its five-point win over Concordia on Feb. 6, UST beat Bethel 69-66 in its season-opener on Feb. 3. … St. Thomas is coming off a 21-6 season a year ago, including a 16-4 showing in conference play. The Tommies' post-season run came to a halt in the MIAC Tournament semifinals, falling to Augsburg 73-61. … Five of St. Thomas' six losses last season came against teams ranked in the Top 16 nationally. … Macy Hatlestad — who scored 26 points in UST's season-opening win over Bethel and added 10 against Concordia three days later — leads the team with an 18.0 ppg scoring average. She is the only Tommie averaging in double figures after two games. … Allie Spaulding is the team's early season rebounding leader with 15 (7.5 rpg), one more than Hatlestad (14, 7.0 rpg). … Madi Schirmer has the team lead in assists with five, while Spaulding owns a team-high four steals and two blocks. … As a team, the Tommies are shooting 35.6 percent from the field (42-for-118) and 69.5 percent from the free throw line (39-for-56). … St. Thomas has nine 3-pointers in two games, led by Hatlestad with five.
