  SAINT MARY'S CARDINALS SCOUTING REPORT
Monday's game at Augsburg is the second of three straight road games in a five-day span for the Cardinals, who do not return home until next Saturday, when they host Hamline in a 2 p.m. contest. … With Saturday's 66-58 win over Bethel, the Cardinals pushed their winning streak to four straight. The Cardinals have now posted a four-game winning streak in each of their last two seasons. SMU's last five-game winning streak came in 2010-11, when the Cardinals won six straight as part of an 8-1 start to the season. … Saint Mary's put a season-high four players in double figures against Bethel Saturday. Eli Cave (St. Paul, Minn.) led the way with 24 points, followed by Raheem Anthony (Chicago, Ill.) with 15, Zach Kjeseth (Wabasha, Minn.) with 12, and Kareem Anthony-Bello (Chicago, Ill.) with 11. … Kjeseth's 12 points — which all came in the first half vs. the Royals — were a season-high. Kjeseth because the second play in as many games to net a career-high of 10 or more points. Nick Falls (Plymouth, Wis.) netted a career-best 10 in SMU's first meeting against Bethel last Wednesday. … Cave has now scored in double figures in 32 straight games — and in 56 of 56 games over the past three seasons — and has netted 20 or more points 28 times in his collegiate career. … With his 24 points against Bethel on Saturday — the second straight meeting with the Royals in which the Cardinal senior has scored 24 points — Cave pushed his career point total to 1,242 career points, ranking the senior 13th all-time. Next up on the career list, Hall of Famer George Hoder '67 (1,260). … Anthony picked up his second double-double of the season, and fourth of his collegiate career, with 13 points and 10 rebounds against Bethel on Feb. 17. … The Cardinals have had a player score 20 or more points in all five games this season, and have had two players score 20 or more points in the same game twice this season — Cave tossed in 27 points and Anthony finished with 20 points against Saint John's on Jan. 29, while Anthony scored 25 and Cave chipped in 22 against Hamline on Feb. 1. … Cave and Anthony both enter Monday's game averaging in double figures — Cave is sitting at 22.4 ppg, with Anthony right behind at 19.8 ppg. … Anthony has amassed a team-leading 39 rebounds (7.8 rpg) through five games, while also leading the Cardinals in assists (16) and steals (20). … As a team, Saint Mary's is shooting 46.4 percent from the field (130-for-280) while going 32-for-59 (54.2 percent) from the free throw line. … The Cardinals have drained 39 3-pointers through five games, led by Cave with 13 and Anthony with 10. … Saint Mary's, which finished with 10 or more 3-pointers in a game nine times a year ago, knocked down 11 treys against Hamline on Feb. 1 and added 10 vs. Bethel last Saturday. … With their 87-64 loss to Saint John's in the teams' nonconference meeting on Jan. 29, the Cardinals had their six-game, season-opening winning streak snapped. … Saint Mary's made its first MIAC Tournament appearance since 1985 a year ago, collecting the program's first postseason victory with its 72-59 quarterfinal win over Bethel on Feb. 25. … Saint Mary's 14 wins a year ago were the most overall wins since going 15-10 during the 1984-85 campaign, while their 10 MIAC victories were the most since going 11-9 during the 1999-2000 season.
  AUGSBURG AUGGIES SCOUTING REPORT
Monday's game against Saint Mary's is the second of three straight home games for the Auggies — and the second of three games in a seven-day span. … The Auggies picked up their second win of the season on Sunday, scoring 46 points in each half in routing Hamline 92-63. … The Auggies put five players in double figures in Sunday's win over Hamline — led by Jack Sorenson, who tied his career-high with 19 points. Joe Palmer chipped in 16 points, while Bradley Winter and Conner Knoepffe both tied career-highs with 15-point efforts, and Matt Carik added 11 points. … Augsburg heads into Monday's matchup against Saint Mary's boasting four players who are averaging in double figures in scoring. Sorenson and Carik lead the way, each averaging 16.7 ppg, followed by Palmer (15.3 ppg) and Winter (10.7) ppg. … Palmer owns a team-leading 24 rebounds (8.0 rpg), followed by Winter with 18 (7.0 rpg). … Sorenson has dished out a team-best 17 assists, four more than Carik, while also collecting a team-leading 13 steals. … As a team, the Auggies are shooting 50.5 percent from the field (99-for-196) and have nailed 30 of 39 free throws (76.9 percent). … The Auggies have drained 28 3-pointers through three games, led by Carik, Palmer, and Sorenson with six each. … Augsburg is averaging 85.3 ppg and have scored 85 and 92 points in its two wins. … Augsburg is coming off an 18-8 campaign a year ago — marking the third straight season in which the Auggies have won 18 or more games. … Augsburg qualified for the MIAC Tournament for the fifth straight year last season, falling to St. Olaf in the quarterfinals.
