  SAINT MARY'S CARDINALS SCOUTING REPORT
Wednesday's game at Gustavus is the third straight road game for the Cardinals, who return home to the Saint Mary's Gym on Saturday to play host to Hamline. … With their 81-79 come-from-behind win over Augsburg, the Cardinals pushed their winning streak to five straight — the program's longest since winning six in a row as part of an 8-1 start to the 2010-11 season. … Saint Mary's put four players in double figures against Augsburg Monday — marking the second straight game in which the Cardinals boasted four 10+ scorers. Raheem Anthony (Chicago, Ill.) led the Saint Mary's offensive attack against the Auggies, scoring 25 points, while Eli Cave (St. Paul, Minn.) chipped in 18, and Caden Freetly (Farmington, Minn.) and Kareem Anthony-Bello (Chicago, Ill.) each chipped in 11. … The Cardinals have now had a player score 20 or more points in all six games this season. SMU achieved that feat in 19 of 27 games a year ago. … The Cardinals have had two players score 20 or more points in the same game twice this season — Cave tossed in 27 points and Anthony finished with 20 points against Saint John's on Jan. 29, while Anthony scored 25 and Cave chipped in 22 against Hamline on Feb. 1. … Cave has now scored in double figures in 33 straight games — and in 57 of 58 games over the past three seasons — and has netted 20 or more points 28 times in his collegiate career. … With his 18 points against Augsburg on Monday, Cave — the reigning MIAC Athlete of the Week — pushed his career point total to 1,260 career points, ranking the senior tied for 12th all-time with George Hoder '67. Next up for Cave: Bill Skemp '55 (1,268) and Tom Pepper '74 (1,281). … Cave also hauled in a season-high 10 rebounds against Augsburg Monday for his first double-double of the season and eighth of his collegiate career. … Zach Kjeseth's (Wabasha, Minn.) 12 points against Bethel on Feb. 20  — which all came in the first half — were a season-high. Kjeseth because the second play in as many games to net a career-high of 10 or more points. Nick Falls (Plymouth, Wis.) netted a career-best 10 in SMU's first meeting against Bethel on Feb. 17. … Anthony picked up his second double-double of the season, and fourth of his collegiate career, with 13 points and 10 rebounds against Bethel on Feb. 17. … Cave and Anthony both enter Wednesday's game averaging in double figures — Cave is sitting at 21.7 ppg, with Anthony right behind at 20.7 ppg. … Anthony has amassed a team-leading 46 rebounds (7.7 rpg) through six games, while also leading the Cardinals in assists (21) and steals (22). … As a team, Saint Mary's is shooting 47.8 percent from the field (162-for-339) while going 40-for-78 (51.3 percent) from the free throw line. … The Cardinals have drained 48 3-pointers through six games, led by Cave with 15, and Anthony and Anthony-Bello with 12 each. … Saint Mary's, which finished with 10 or more 3-pointers in a game nine times a year ago, knocked down 11 treys against Hamline on Feb. 1 and added 10 vs. Bethel on Feb. 20. … The Cardinals 81 points in Monday's two-point win over Augsburg were a season-high. Saint Mary's netted 80 or more points five times a year ago. … Saint Mary's made its first MIAC Tournament appearance since 1985 a year ago, collecting the program's first postseason victory with its 72-59 quarterfinal win over Bethel on Feb. 25. … Saint Mary's 14 wins a year ago were the most overall wins since going 15-10 during the 1984-85 campaign, while their 10 MIAC victories were the most since going 11-9 during the 1999-2000 season.
  GUSTAVUS GUSTIES SCOUTING REPORT
The Gusties head into Wednesday's rematch with Saint Mary's having played just two games — both losses. Along with a season-opening 67-45 nonconference loss to the Cardinals, GAC dropped a 75-68 decision to fourth-ranked Saint John's on Sunday. … The Gusties put four players in double figures against Saint John's on Sunday — Peter Lundquist (20), Kaleb Feahn (14), Benji Lundberg (12), and Isaac Douglas (11). … Lundquist enters Wednesday's game against Saint Mary's leading the Gusties with a 15.0 ppg scoring average, while Feahn is also averaging in double figures at 11.5 ppg. … Nolan Malo is the team's rebounding leader with 11 (5.5 rpg). Logan Rezac boasts a team-best six assists, while Rezac and Feahn top the team in steals with three each, and Lundquist has accounted for seven of the team's 10 blocked shots. … As a team, the Gusties are shooting 35.2 percent from the field (44-for-125) and 77.8 percent from the free throw line (14-for-18). … Gustavus has knocked down 11 3-pointers in two games, led by Benji Lundberg and Isaac Douglas with three each. … The Gusties are averaging 56.5 ppg, while their opponents are scoring at a 71.0 ppg clip. … The Gusties are coming off an 8-17 season a year ago — including an 8-12 showing in conference play.
