Saint Mary's University of Minnesota Athletics 
2021 Outdoor Fan Policy

• The university will permit spectators at the venues for outdoor sporting events.  Spectators are not permitted elsewhere on campus (e.g., residence halls, Toner Student Center, Bookstore, etc.).
  • Bathrooms - Track and Field area 
  • We discourage contact with any student athletes before competition. 
  • After competition, if there is contact between student athletes and spectators, we highly encourage mask wearing and social distancing.
• Campus athletic administration and or game support staff will monitor attendance to accommodate outdoor  COVID-19 capacity numbers. (No more than 250 spectators for all outdoor venues) 
• We highly encourage individuals attending games to use the COVIDaware MN app. (It assists with contact tracing.)
• Fans must stay six feet apart at all times.  Family pods can be near each other. 
• All bleacher seating at all venues will be properly marked off for seating purposes.
• Masking and social distance signage will be posted at all three facilities (baseball and softball fields as well as soccer / track and field). 
• Masks must be worn at all times.
• Hand sanitizing stations will be available at each outdoor venue.
• Athletic game support staff and or athletic administration will be responsible for enforcement of this policy.   They will work in conjunction with campus safety (507-457-1703) as needed.  
• At no time can a fan enter the field of play.
• If the mask and social distance policy is violated by an individual, the following will occur:
  • The individual will be asked once to comply by athletic administration and or game support staff.  
  • If a violation continues to occur, they will be asked to leave. 
    • If needed campus safety will assist.
• The bleachers will be wiped down after the conclusion of a contest and in between doubleheaders. 

 
Note:  No fans are allowed at any indoor sporting event for the 2020-2021 school year.
