  SAINT MARY'S CARDINALS SCOUTING REPORT
Saturday's game against Bethel is the second straight road game for the Cardinals, who played five of their first six contests on their home ice. … The Cardinal-Bethel matchup is the first of two straight meetings for the Cardinals against Bethel. The two teams will face again on Wednesday at the SMU Ice Arena. … The Cardinals picked up their first win of the season with Thursday's 2-1 victory over Augsburg — snapping their five-game winless streak (0-3-2). … Kennedy Kraus (Kasson, Minn.) and Kaley Manglitz (Onalaska, Wis.) scored Saint Mary's two goals vs. Augsburg — Kraus's was her first collegiate goal, while Magnlitz's was the game-winner. … The Cardinals have had three players record their first collegiate goals this season — Kennedy Kraus, Katie Devine (Glencoe, Ill.), and Sarah O'Brien (Littleton, Colo.). … Saint Mary's six goals this season have come from six different players — Kennedy Kraus, Devine, O'Brien, Manglitz, Jordan Modjeski (South Lyon, Mich.), and Avrey Simonson (Waupaca, Wis.). … Manglitz leads the team in both assists (2) and points (3). … Ary Ziakas (Palatine, Ill.) made 34 saves against Augsburg Thursday and has now stopped 30 or more shots in back-to-back games and three times this season. … Ziakas boasts a 1.42 goals-against-average and a .947 save percentage. … Ziakas stopped a season-high 35 shots in blanking Concordia for her second collegiate shutout on Feb. 6. … Ziakas recorded a career-high 54 saves in the Cardinals' 3-3 tie with No. 5 Hamline on Feb. 8, 2020. After opening the season with back-to-back wins over Concordia-Wis. (1-0) and Gustavus (4-2), the Royals have gone 1-2-0 in their last three — including a 7-3 setback to Augsburg in their last action on Wednesday. … Bethel's loss to Augsburg Wednesday marked the first time this season the outcome has not been decided by two goals or less. … Ally Halverson, Bri Stafne, and McKayla Machlitt scored BU's three goals against Augsburg Wednesday. … Halverson, Grace Halvorson, Julia Mcalpin, and Lexi DeBace share the team lead in goals with two each, with Stafne, Machlitt, Kennedi Mitchell, Emily Roder, and Lindsey Muntifering accounting for the Royals' other five goals. … Safne has collected a team-high three assists, one more than DeBace, while the pair share the team lead in points with four. … Bethel's three-game winning goals have come from three different players — DeBace, Halverson, and Mitchell. … Baleigh Shuck and Mallory Tidona have both seen time between the pipes for the Royals. Shuck has compiled a 2.91 goals-against-average and .881 save percentage in four appearances, while Tidona holds a 3.24 GAA and .875 save percentage in one start. … The Royals have scored just one first-period goal this season.
