  SAINT MARY'S CARDINALS SCOUTING REPORT
The Cardinals ran their winning streak to four straight Wednesday evening, getting a season- and career-high 30 kills from Linnaea Wallis (Dresser, Wis.) en route to a 3-1 victory over Hamline at the Saint Mary's Gym. … The Cardinals have not lost since opening the season with a 3-0 setback against Augsburg. Since then, Saint Mary's has defeated Concordia (3-1), St. Catherine (3-2), Bethel (3-2), and Hamline (3-1). … Wallis' 30 kills against Hamline Wednesday were not only a single-match career high, but also fell just one kill short of the program record for kills in a match, held by Brandi Blattner, who delivered 31 kills against Bethel on Oct. 21, 2016. … Wallis was one of three Cardinals with 10 or more kills against Hamline, being joined by Ciarra McNally (Lewiston, Minn.) with 11 and Coral Anderson (Rogers, Minn.) with 10. … Along with her 30 kills, Wallis also recorded 14 digs for her fourth straight double-double. … Mandy Schmidt (Mitchell, S.D.) — who recorded a career-high 47 assists against St. Catherine on March 31 — dished out 43 assists vs. Hamline Wednesday. It was the second straight match in which the sophomore had 43 assists, and the third straight match with 40 or more helpers. … Wallis enters Saturday's match at Gustavus with a team-leading 86 kills and is hitting a team-best .265. Anderson (58) and McNally (50) have also recorded 50 or more kills through five matches. … Schmidt has accounted for 180 of the Cardinals' 247 assists. … Saint Mary's has amassed 23 service aces this season, led by Wallis and Rachel Kedl (Lamberton, Minn.) with five. … DeJaye Baab (Wabasha, Minn.) is the team-leader in digs with 103, followed by Wallis with 92. … With her 39th dig on March 28, Baab reached the 1,000 career dig plateau. Baab is the 12th person in program history to reach 1,000 career digs and with 1,064 digs currently trails Courtney Runge '09 (1,084) for No. 10 all-time. … The Cardinals are a perfect 4-0 in the fourth set this season, while winning both fifth sets they have played. Saint Mary's has lost the first set in four of its five matches this season. … The Cardinals finished 15-13 a year ago — including a 5-6 showing in conference play. Saint Mary's has now finished 15-13 overall in back-to-back seasons.
  GUSTAVUS GUSTIES SCOUTING REPORT
The Gusties have played just one match this season, rolling to a 3-0, season-opening win over Concordia on the road on April 11. … Kate Holtan — an AVCA All-Central Region and AVCA Honorable-Mention All-American in 2019 — led the Gustie offensive attack against Concordia, collecting 18 kills, while hitting a team-leading .317. Nora Lehmkuhl delivered 40 assists in the three-set match, while Haley Embacher collected a team-best 27 digs. … The Gusties are coming off a 14-15 season in 2019, reaching the MIAC Tournament for the 29th time in program history. … GAC had its run of four straight NCAA appearances snapped in 2019. … Holtan closed out 2019 with a whopping 402 kills and was one of five Gusties with 130 or more kills. Sarah Elliott (216), Rhyan Hermann (203), Annalee Olson-Sola (158), and Sydney Olson (133) were the others. … Katylyn Johnston and Mitaya Johnson shared the setting duties in 2019, compiling 503 and 419 helpers, respectively. … Holtan and Malley Embacher each posted 40 aces in 2019, while Embacher (552) and Holtan (317) led the team in digs. … Eight of GAC'ws14 wins in 2019 were 3-0 sweeps, while adding five four-set victories and one five-setter.
