SMU CARDINALS SCOUTING REPORT

• BACK AT IT: Friday's season-opener marks the first time the Cardinals have competed since Nov. 16, 2019 at the NCAA Regional. Saint Mary's did not have a 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic
• COLLEGIATE DEBUT: Friday's Augustana Twilight will be the collegiate debut for all three of the Cardinal men's runners — Gabe Bickerstaff (Rollingstone, Minn.), Isaiah Brindamour (Hinckley, Minn.), and Quinn Steinbrecher (Holmen, Wis.) — as well as women runners Caroline Gearin (Osceola, Wis.), Emily Kern (Buffalo, Minn.), Audrey Storlie (Hinckley, Minn.), and Amanda Tuvey (West St. Paul, Minn.).
• LEADING THE CHARGE: Anna Marinc (Carol Stream, Ill.) finished first or second among Cardinal runners in all six meets in 2019.
• CAREER EFFORTS: Anna Swanson (Osceola, Wis.) recorded a career-best 5K time of 22:36 at the 2019 National Catholic Invitational and notched a career-best 6K time of 25:32 at the 2019 UW-Eau Claire Invitational.
• MAKING A STATEMENT: Anna Swanson (Osceola, Wis.) earned All-American honors in the javelin at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, placing second — the highest finish by an SMU track and field athlete ever.
