  SAINT MARY'S CARDINALS SCOUTING REPORT
• ROUGH START: The Cardinals came up empty in their 2021 season-opener against the University of Dubuque on Wednesday, falling to the Spartans 3-0 in Dubuque, Iowa.
• HOME SWEET HOME: Saturday's game against Edgewood is the first of three straight home games for the Cardinals — who host Martin Luther on Monday and Crown on Wednesday. The Cardinals played three of their five games during the pandemic-shortened, fall-to-spring season a year ago on their home turf, going 1-2-0. SMU finished 1-0-1 away from Ochrymowycz Field.
• BETWEEN THE PIPES: Daniel Sessler (Brookfield, Ill.) matched his career-high with seven saves in Wednesday's 3-0 loss to the University of Dubuque. Sessler also stopped seven shots in his first collegiate start against St. Thomas on April 8, 2021. … Sessler stopped all four Saint John's shots on April 21, 2021 en route to his first collegiate shutout. … Sessler locked up his first win as a Cardinal with a four-save effort in SMU's 2-1 win over Augsburg on April 11, 2021.
• TAKING THE SHOT: Cerim Palislamovic (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Jacob Clements accounted for the Cardinals two shots in Wednesday's 3-0 loss to the University of Dubuque.
• PK WIZARD: Eli Szymanski's (La Crosse, Wis.) goal against Concordia on April 18, 2021 came on a penalty kick. The junior has accounted for the Cardinals' last four penalty kick goals over the past three seasons.
• A YEAR AGO: The Cardinals went 1-0-1 in their final two games of the 2021 season — both against Saint John's — en route to a 2-2-1 finish. … Palislamovic and Diego Rivera (Chicago, Ill.) each scored their first collegiate goals in SMU's 2-1 win over Saint John's on April 25, 2021. … Rivera had a hand in three of the four goals Saint Mary's scored last season — adding a pair of assists to his first collegiate goal — for a team-high four points, one more than Szymanski and Palislamovic. … Szymanski led the team in both attempts (16) and shots on goal (7).
 EDGEWOOD EAGLES SCOUTING REPORT
• OPENING 2021: The Eagles managed just a lone, first-half goal in dropping a 6-1 decision to UW-Whitewater in their 2021 season opener Wednesday.

• BETWEEN THE PIPES: Brendon Martin was busy in goal for the Eagles against UW-Whitewater Wednesday, finishing with seven saves. Martin started six of the Eagles' eight games a year ago, compiling a 1.95 goals-against-average and a .727 save percentage.
