WINONA, Minn. —Â
Laudon Poellinger (La Crescent, Minn.) kicked off his sophomore season with the Saint Mary's University men's hockey team in impressive fashion last weekend, having a hand in four of the team's eight goals against Lake Forest.
Â
Poellinger posted a goal and an assist in Saint Mary's season-opening, 5-5 tie with the Foresters last Friday, before equaling that feat in the Cardinals' 6-3 loss to Lake Forest the following afternoon.
Â
With four points through his first two games, Poellinger is already halfway to his eight-point (4 G, 4 A) total from a year ago.
Â
Poellinger and the Cardinals are back in action this weekend, when they kick off conference play with a pair of games against Hamline. SMU will head to TRIA Rink in St. Paul, Minn., for a 7 p.m. showdown with the Pipers on Friday, and the two teams will head to the Saint Mary's Ice Arena for Saturday's 7:05 p.m. rematch.
